It's flawed and somewhat forgettable, but it is an enjoyable series and was one of my favorites while it was airing.

its fun for just casual anime watching
my problem with it is the plot seems like a medium for connecting a series of contrived 1v1 matches

btw, werent they supposed to release a sequel?

What? You didn't watch the end, It's where all the action is.
They should make an sequel, it was one of my favourite anime

Was watching this recently, and brought me back to the sequel question. Has anyone heard anything about a sequel? I'd certainly love to have one

Na', I very much doubt it... I would recommend just get the manga. If you don't want to read it entirely, you can probably pick it up somewhere between volume 11 and 14, and you should be right around where the last chapter that was animated. After episode 33 or so, the anime diverged from the manga completely.

How long is the manga in its entirety?

39 Volumes. Anime ends in the middle of Volume 14. I can't find any translated volumes though after the 19th one.
