Well, the problem I see is that Hinata specializes in close combat, the *gentle fist* technique and Temari technique doesn't favor that, her wind technique is for long distance fights.I'd say it would depend on how they would strategize the battle.
Still, if Hinata manages to learn the kaiten, things would go easy for her from there... Prolly, Temari would be throw aside by her own winds...

hmm hinata does have really fast close combat attacks and reactions but i cant remember her actually engaugeing an enemy from a distance, so before she could hit temari she would be attacked anyway and if she did use the kaiten- would it deflect wind/elemental attacks?
btw how do you get a genin tag and a proper picture instead of these annoying faces >_<

Anyways... Temari would obviously beat Hinata. Temari has the smarts and has a huge ass fan. If Hinata was far away than she would use her wind move and blast that biatch even farther away. But if she was close Temari would smack her in the face with her fan.

oh I though at first it was Tenten vs Hinata, but if it's Tenmari, the Sand Genin vs Hinata, I think it would be Temari, because she's pretty smart, and has that huge fan though I would root for Hinatai/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif

on topic now: id have to agree with neji, the winner of the battle would be determined most likely by how they strategize. though personally i would root for hinata all the way.

first off... Hinata isn't a genius... in any way shape or for(u)m....
And about the strategery... Temari showed some interesting tactics against Shika and Sasuke, and what did Hinata show? nothing. Granted it was against Neji, but she still could have done something.
I hate to say it, and Tass will stab me, but Hinata would be own-ed

Temari, she's shown more skills and strategic ability thus far. If Hinata developed her Byakugan abilities more, she might have a chance, but from what we've seen, she doesn't.

The outcome probably depends on the landscape as well.
If they were fighting in open air, hinata will get whooped.
But if they fight in a jungle or forest or something, hinata can sneak up on her and beat temari up.

Hinata would have to get a lot more physical to stand a chance. Temari is older, and seems to be significantly tougher, physically. I like Hinata a bit, but she is not yet on that kind of level.

Still, as I pointed, if Hinata eventually learns the kaiten, it would be very hard to beat her. We all saw what her dad did against a small platoon of Sand Ninjas, if she puts her mind into it and keeps training, she can learn it by herself like Neji. She may lack self-confidence, but she is not stupid, to begin with.
However, if you guys think like Neji, that it's her destiny not to change and get stronger, there's not much to argue about.
Temari figured out a few things but in the end, she got fooled by the diversion that Shika was providing.
I believe that, like Neji she can see the tenketsu (?). Temari's power comes from the fact that she can put her own chakra in the wind. Once Hinata touches a few of those chakra points, Temari will be done for.
Another point is the fact that, in her fight with Neji, there was a lot of emotional pressure involved, stuff that had been brewing way before the actual fight. So, if the fight involved less emotional stress, Hinata likely would be able to strategize better. During the second Chunnin exam she was the one who located those leeches with the byakugan. So, she could analize the place of the fight and take advantage of of whatever is there
When Temari fought in the forest, she got her ass kicked, for one. So, another decisive factor would be where they would fight. Hinata could manage to hit Temari on the back, a again, a simple hit, even without much physical strenght would do Temari right away.

HEY HEY HEY a simple hit would never hurt temari i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif and whoever hit her me and gaara would kick there ass i/expressions/devil.gif

huge ass fan?
a huge fan of her ass?
that's just sick...
anyway, Hinata wouldn't stand a chance against Temari. Temari exceeds her in every field of combat (startegy, reading opponents and so on) except taijutsu, and temari knows about Neji's skills so she'll be able to think up a counter to Hinata's third rate gentle fist combat. besides; Temari fan only works on females, so it'll have effect on Hinata.
and for those who asked, Hinata can't see the tenntakus', remember how neji says "my byakougan can see them"?

I love Hinata but sorry when it comes down to Temari. She doesn't have a chance she hasn't learned the real advantageous Hyuuga techniques so she would get whooped by Temari's long range skill and intelligence. Her fan hurts everybody not just girls its just that all the guys dodged it and hid behind stuff where Tenten couldn't because it was an open space. Sasuke's back hit the tree when she first did it so it does hurt guys, just that the guys she faced were smarter and got outta the way.

These *what if* threads* are actually annoying.
But if you have the right to ask what if Temari would fight Hinata, I have can answer: *if* Hinata developed her byakugan and her Hyuuga techniques she would win.
Consideing that the probabilities of such fight actually happens are less than those of Itachi fighting the
4th... I am getting out of the field of hypothetical questions saying:
What if there were no hypothetical questions?

"hypothetical", what do you mean by it?
to keep on-topic. hinata would win. why? the good 'guys' always win in naruto. (yeah yeah, gaara-lee, fuck off you silly n00b).

Here's a hypothetical fight. What if Chibi Sakura fought Konohamaru? Huh? huh?
Nah... but every one is saying what if this and that, what if Temari learned how to make 5 more fans, attach blades and set them on fire? you have to acount her improvement as well...

temari would win it. she's smart and strong. hinata just got the gentle fist nothing more. in a fight between these 2 i would root for temari all the way
Uzumaki Naruto
Sat, 04-17-2004, 04:06 PM
if hinata is somewhat capable of finding a way to avoid temari's wind attack, then she will win the fight got sure bc all she has to do is hit temari with the gentle fist style and temaris is finished, but if she wasnt able to avoid temaris wind attack, then she kinda screwed, unless, she was able to learn kaiten which will give her a big advantage

I personally think that Naruto hasn't showed how great Hinata can be. I think she is one of those who hide her strength behind her weakness so everyone underestimates her. Yeah she is young and not as advance, but I think she is a better strategist than what everyone assumes. If it wasn't for Ten fan she would suck.
logic
Sun, 04-18-2004, 01:03 AM
Remember also how they say that hinata is more advanced, but dormant.
Granted, potential ability and current ability are two different things, however, since we are in a hypothetical discussion, so will be my answer.
Assuming both progress, Hinata will by far become the stronger of the two, especially with Naruto's continued encouragement, i.e. her way of the ninja, which is derived from narutos proclamation.
Hinata uses the byakougan as well as Neji, although not as skillfully, although with her practice and rapid improvement, her natural skill and talent will further it beyond neji's. Temari has no bloodline limit.
You all brag on temaris strategising, yet she was defeated in the finals.
In naruto, dedication is the pinnacle of strength, above all else.
Hinata has that dedication and motivation now.

only thing Temari relys on is that fan, she has no strategy really but to hope that the wind kills them. Again shes hiding her strength behind her weakness and stupidness hehehehe. I will never think that Temari is good at strategy, only skill she has is the fan, without shes useless.
Stupid sayings are the funniest sayings... dont mean anything =D

The way I've seen it, hinata is only good at her hand-to-hand style combat. In what I've seen (78 eps) she never showed strategy or intension of killing someone.
Tass
Sun, 04-18-2004, 12:58 PM
yeah she did...2nd stage of the chunin (sp?) trials...used her Byakugan (sp? -eye thing) for the leaches trap...thats both strategy and killing intent

if hinata could get in close enough to temari, she may stand a chance but i doubt that she has the speed to get close to make the battle a hand to hand fight.

I'd still like to see Hanabi in a fight.

Hanabi is Hinata's little sister. I think she's about 5 years younger and from what's been hinted at so far, she's stronger than Hinata...what a shame.

As things stand right now, without further skill advancement Temari would win easily. Hinata's very underachieiving right now.
If you are talking about future, thats an entirely different question. Yes we know some of Hinata's possible Hyuga abilities, but we don't know anything about what Temari could learn, so its sorta hard to assume on what would happen in the future. And I think Temari is a strategist, not on the same level as Shikamaru but is still good. She does some stuff in all of her fights indicating that she is planning ahead, realizing what she has to do etc. Getting outsmarted by Sasuke (in their fight) isn't anything to be ashamed of he is an Uchiha after all.

He's an Uchiha but he is Sasuke, heh, heh
Just seemed to me that the battle field might have been disadvantageous to her. Shika could easily hid from her behind the trees. Tenten didn't have that chance, given the fight conditions she had.
In a thick forest, her wind technique can be less effective. Unless she develops the power to uproot the trees with her wind...
