Ok, who here can read Japanese??

ok, i was watching episode 54 again.. the episode where jiraiya gives naruto the summoning scroll for the frogs. and when he opens the scroll there are a bunch of names, are they in japanese and readable?

if so, could someone who knows japanese translate them for me please.

at approximately 18:55 in episode 54 is what you are looking out for.

You asked that already in "Naruto Anime" and the answer is the same.

It isn't really readable and was changed from manga to anime. In the manga Naruto subscribes next to Jiraiya iirc.
There are ppl who claim to be able to read it, but the just fuel the fire by interpreting into it what they want to hear.
It has to be the 4th but his name is unreadable. We really do not know.
No one does. Ok, Kishimoto, but except him no one.

There's been some theorizing that at least part of the Fourth's name is Arashi (meaning storm) but really, it's only a theory. Elessar is right, it's truly unreadable, most likely because Kishimoto has something planned for the Fourth's backstory and it's nowhere near being revealed yet.

I really don't think there's anything to add to this, so I'm closing the thread.
