Still haven't seen Bubblegum Crisis, even though a friend keeps telling me I should. All that I know is that the animation is wonderful. I love Gonzo digimation and their sweet integration of cell-shading CG and regular artwork.

Watched the first episode today, reminds me alot of Bubblegum Crisis don't you agree?
yea it does sorta remind of bubble gum, but with a twist to it, sorta more like gundam and bubble gum crisis mixed together, and i swear i thought that joe was a guy the whole time i was watching the first 10 minutes of it

Entertaining, with just enough ecchi to keep me into the mindless action, and a strong-spirited but relatively wimpy male lead opposite several attractive scantily-clad hardcore female lead characters.

Well, i've seen the first episode now.
As said before, it looks like someone decided to throw love hina in the middle of a super cool meacha\action anime. I don't really like the combination, i've had too many love hina like animes lately, we need some kickass heroes...

I can't pass a real judjement yet, seeing how this is the first episode and all, but i really can't see a way for a cheaf to become a crime-fighter (even though, i'm quite sure that he'll pilot one of the robots to save joe in the next episode), and while joe, meg and sei are cool, the little girl really doesn't fit in, and as much as jappanese animes like to appeal to the pedophiles of society, i think it would be much better without that girl.


well, that's another anime i'll keep track of, All i need now is a new HD to download all animes onto...

I think 'Jo' is correct but the episode is out already with 'Joe' as the spelling for her name. Someone should tell the translators... I would but I don't know how how. I've got no problem with the guy being a cook. I've got several friends, including myself, who really enjoy cooking. All of them are guys. Only one of the women that I know really enjoy it.

If it were a bow and arrow, or something similar, muscle mass and strength would play an important part in using them effectively. I would expect guys to be more involved with that then women, but still not necessarily better.

To me, guns are just point and click. You still need to aim, but there is a much lower physical requirement involved. I don't see where gender should matter with those. In fact, women are supposed to have better depth perception, they may have an easier time at it.

for some reason this anime kinda reminds me of Airmaster but with guns and giant mechs.....cuz in airmaster, the main character was a female who enjoyed kicking the crap outta people in street fights. and when she fights, she becomes a psycho b!tch who looks orgasmic as she's beating them up.

and another thing that is similar is that the best buddy of the girl in airmaster is this SOOOPER buxomed chick that seems to want to be more than just friends with the main character in airmaster. i've seen many similarities between Bakuretsu and Airmaster in the two eps that i've seen so far of Baku.

it doesn't mean it's a bad thing though. cuz airmaster was kinda cool and bakuretsu looks just as interesting. throwing that cook guy into the mix makes it interesting and i'd like to see how the anime turns out.

Baku-ten is turning out to be a lot better than I thought it would be after the first eps, 6 was great. It might be one of the better series this summer (or winter, depending where you are).

give it a little more time, it took Kiddy Grade about 12eps to get a plot.

I think they're slowly building up the plot with the whole business about that glowing brain...until they think they can climax it once and get into the real story...

They were building up Kiddy Grade until that incident on one of their assignments...

I also think Mr. Cook is going to have a large effect on Jo. I'm really hoping for something between them instead of meg and jo.

Also, I agree with the guy above. This glowing brain thing seems to leading somewhere, I remember a scene where some people were talking about it while watching it on monitors. It's definatly going to have a big part in the story.

On another note, most anime are just big fillers of building up skills and whatnot, this is just a different type of filler thing.

P.S. - AonE has released up to episode 10 for those who are interested. Hopefully they'll catch up or something, but Lunar is getting some crazy speeds so I'm having my doubts, either way I'll have to watch one to compare the quality since AonE usually have some great subs and it may be able to change my opinion on some characters since even a word difference can change your perspective of a character.

Wings Wings! i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif i think that was one of the best bakuten eps yet...but i think the plot will still remain very basic until some episode...this could end up like bebop or some other animes where there's no real plot, but knowing gonzo..i think they would start going deeper into the plot soon!

i too feel its a shame that animes get licenced halfway through the series

i can imagine what would happen if they decide to licence animes like Naruto now and lots of groups would stop subbing it
be chaos if you ask me

Hmmm... Can you specify the actual address cos I've only d/l esp11 halfway when it got licensed in Lunar Torrent...?
