Help with Record of Lodoss War OVA & TV

I just started watching the TV series... I'm up to episode 4

I need some help because some of the storyline has been changed from the OVA to the TV like Parn never met Orson or Shiris, which he had done so already on the OVA...

It also seems that they have never fought Shooting Star and Wagnar is still alive...


I was just wandering if those assumptions are true... and if you could also give me other storyline changes from the OVA to the TV series so that I can understand the TV series better without getting confused with the OVA...

Things are very different. Parn basically has the status at the beginning of the TV that he did at the end of the OVA and Deedlit is still with him, but almost everybody else has been reset to the way things were beforehand.

I don't really like the TV, dislike most of the new character and how some of the old ones are portrayed. Only new element that I enjoyed was "The Second Part".
