It was just announced yesterday that the awesomely done Manga Tenjo Tenge will be (has been) turned into anime. I believe I read correctly and on their website it starts airing in Japan April 1st. http://www.avexmode.jp/animation/tenten/

I haven't kept up with our "future projects" list too well, 'cause of work and projects and classes n' such .... so I can't tell ya. Since several projects are ending in various different ways, we're going to be picking up quite a few new ones to fill the void... I think we're slated to have something like 10-14 projects overall, but not sure.

I'm looking forward to the new season, myself. But I can't yet tell ya what we're doing for it, sadly. We do already know what we're doing next season though ...

i think that people that say that they loved Ikkitousen will find this to be their favorite series...

I liked the series so far... and on the plus side they seem to have some very good voice actors... many of you will recognize them

Well, Oh Great! The manga artist is actually a h-manga artist..soo...

not to mention to anyone who has read the manga knows what kind of adult situations are in it.

Saw the first ep....wow talk about out sourcing...I have NEVER seen that many Korean names at the ending credits of an anime EVER.

So far sticking by the manga's storyline, my only complaint is the character design, they are close to Oh Greats! design, but the character faces just don't right to me...

I don't know whether Bob or Takayanagi are my favorite, but I was a bit disappointed that Bob's name isn't in the opening theme song. Makes me think he won't be around for the entire series. Dang it.

Nagi and Aya are obviously the main characters in the manga. too much of the manga is focused around them for them not to be the main characters.

Did you mean that actual footage in the anime is blurred out, scenes of sexual content was taken out of the anime by subbers, or the sexual scenes were in the manga but were never animated?
i dont really like watching blurred images, censorship sucks

the anime isn't censored itself... but the manga to anime transition was.... (manga had lots o' sex / nudity)

also i wanted to put my 2 cents in on the character discussion, i HATE Souchirou, hate him, hate him!, cocky annoying bastard, really, i was soo happy that takayanagi pwned him, but i really dont like the idea of souchirou surpassing takayanagi in such a short time, stuff like that is sorta cheesy to me, also the fact that takayanagi's brother is the strongest character in the series, shows us that the second strongest or the one to surpass him should naturally be his little brother, just my ideas on it anyways, i really hope souchirou doesnt start gettin the goku complex cuz that'd ruin the series for me, if he were to pass takayanagi and then takayanagi far passes him in strength or they become equals, i'd liek it, i just dont a repeat of dbz where everyone was strong but the only one worth two shits was goku because he was the only one to be able to beat the enemies

It's amazing how naive Mitsoumi was when he was younger.

They even passed over some stuff that the Jyuken club (spelled right?) did after the bowling alley from the manga, went straight to the flashback.

Please drag this out longer, please do. Make this anime the crap it wasnt supposed to be.
The fact that the flashback only pertains to Maya [who has done, lets see, not one damn thing in this flashback except beat some guy with Shin's finger technique], and Mitsoumi [who has, hey, how bout that, done nothing also] bothers me deeply.
The flashback isnt supposed to start as one thing and come out completely different. The Shin-Bunshichi fight was cool, but thats it.

What I'm trying to say is that they setup these 5 characters, and have veered away from whats good about the anime. I always thought the central character was supposed to be Souichiro, and his goal to be the strongest in the club. Thats just me...

oh yeah. I have volumes 1-10, but got that at tjtg.mangatranslation.com before the manga got licensed by DC comics (which the site removed the torrent), and will try to help find it for you.
There is some stuff from the manga that hasnt been on the show, gratuitous nudity, and a well-done design.
*on nudity, when you watch the show, it's plainly obvious when they are censoring or reanimating a certain sequence*

The thing of it is, though, the anime is only 26 episodes, and the manga has expanded to 12 chapters. Im not even sure if its over yet.
It's not like Naruto where the anime plays catch-up w/ the manga, thus allowing the show to put more into the show, then say a series that is 26 eps. I guess it cant be helped.

i agree that they won't be able to put 10 volumes of manga in 26 episodes. the flashbacks aren't even finished!! i read the manga...and imo, it's better. the action scenes were cool in the beginning especially the fight between masataka and souichiro (i thought it was the coolest thing when souichiro grabbed masataka's fist and masataka turned and kicked him). the action scenes later don't look as exciting.

Hello hello! Long time lurker, first time poster. Just got this awesome anime, and I'm loving it! Just one thing though. I've tried a few different codecs, uninstalling and installing. Xvid, DivX, ffdshow bundle, I have the media player 9 vcm as well.

When I watch the first episode, the video seems to drag, scramble, then catch up at certain points. Is this my codec not being the right one? Or is it the actual video? Specifically, it's the version I got from here, and one spot where the slowdown occurs is right at the beginning of the first ep's intro, when one of the fine ladies does a somersault into the vid.

IMO, at the rate they are trying so hard to keep the storyline and details as close as possible to the manga; 26 episodes will barely even reach manga volume 9 or 10 .

Episode 20 = Early parts of Manga vol 7, my take would be; expect a Tenjou Tenge season 2 somewhere next year or who knows maybe as late as yr 2006. If it has to be concluded in one season it will probably be heavily edited (hopefully SKILLFULLY done). i/expressions/face-icon-small-cool.gif

One question to the manga readers who done vol 7 or those who watch till episode 20... any idea if Maya was actually violated sexually by Fu Chien's underlings or they juz shredded her clothes to give Shin an impression? I will hate the author for enternity if my fav female char have to go through that. i/expressions/face-icon-small-frown.gif

Manga readers will probably know clearly that Bob's girl got raped by Ryusaki, however that particular scene in the anime gave a hazy lead to it instead. Despite going through the anime and the manga i can't verify if Maya was violated or not... for those who had an idea feel free to post your comments on this and put an end to my misery.

My guess of the ending would be something like this:
By last episode, end flashback at how Shin was killed by Mitsuomi, then followed by Souichirou and friends starting their journey to attain more power and strength.

my problem was that they basically asked Maya, "hey, whos that Mitsoumi dude? howd you know him?" It basically got off the central point of what the flashback was about. I liked the whole Bunshichi vs. Shin ordeal, but felt it didnt belong in that moment.
Oh well... I'm reading the manga now, and I'm happy with it.

Bunshichi told Maya before they left the bowling alley that she needed to come clean about the past, not just Mitsuomi so it didn't stray off the path as you might think. Although how one can get the feeling that Maya and Mitsuomi were a couple in the past (anime version because the manga does explain a little more) is beyond me.

I need to get back to reading the manga myself. I've only read bits and pieces here and there to know enough.

Souchiro did not hurt Aya on purpose. He felt the calling of his heart, and it was with Maya. Aya just assumed from the beginning that Shouchiro will be her man. If anyone is to blame the sadness right now, it's Aya for being presumptious and acting on her own. Souchiro has been trying to avoid Aya since the beginning.

It looks like they are going to finally finish up the flashbacks. I guess it will be good news for some, and not for others.

I have been enjoying the humor that they have brought back lately in the last few episodes, but this time, with Takayanagi looking like a demon wolf horny bastard just didn't look right. I thought he was more respectable.

I am sure Maya will become stronger after all these events. Furthermore, Mitsuomi wanted to test Souchiro and Bob for the prelimaries. It looks like there is going to be a bigger story for them after the flashbacks. I just don't see how this series can end in only 26 episodes. A lot of intense action/story with a bit of humor. i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif

I agree with thundrakkon, it's not Nagi fault that Aya fell in love with him. It was her own dumb fault for falling in love with the first person to see her nude. Anyway on to the eps they were funny and as expected Bob and Nagi stood no chance against Isuzu and Bunshichi. It was funny seeing Bunshichi beat the crap out of Nagi when he was tied up. I also had a good laugh when he took them home and told Chiaki that they started the fight and when she looked at them they turned they heads like nope wasnt us. Dunno why but I always find it funny when the strongest people are scared of a woman with no powers at all.

So is Shin completely evil now, or has he suppressed that dark side of his? It looks like he is probably still evil, but just hiding it. Also, did Mitsuomi turn evil because of that mark on his chest left by Shin?

YaY, I don't care how this show ends now that Fu Chien(It was spelled Fu Chen before right?) has finally had his @$$ handed to him by Shin. The second best part of the ep was finding out that everyone thinks that the Reiki(sp) sword is evil when it's really used to contain Shin's power. Also every since the first ep I thought Maya was cool but now after seeing her in the flashbacks she seems just as annoying as Aya and you just know she's gonna cause Shin to die.

from what i heard, the series wasnt doing too well, so they decided to cut it down by 2 episodes. They were going to cut it down even more but there were some contract issues or something like that.

I don't see what everyone is complaining about, When it was announced how many eps it was and since the manga is still going(I think) that the anime wouldn't have a real ending like Inuyasha. The only thing that felt rushed to me was the fight unless they were supposed to throw punches that fast. And Fu Chen got owned again i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif

Actually, the same thing happened with Inuyasha. The show ended and the manga is still going on. The last iy ep is by no means an ending.

are the torrents from mirkx/point blank still working (im talking about the individual 19-24 files)

or did they scrap those and go with the big batch torrent file? That would suck since i only need 19-24.

I don't know. But if you still have 1-18 on your computer you can add them into the batch torrent.

You start the torrent, stop and delete it. Then put the old episodes into the folder that was created, they must have the same name as in the torrent though. Now just open the torrent file again and it should verify the old stuff and start out at whatever % of the episodes you already have.

edit: of course now it seems like the 1-24 torrent is dead. Could just be my computer, but I'm pretty sure it isn't.
