lol another Japanese anime that gets rushed at the very last moment. I'm guessing could it be budget problems like it usually is? That would explain the series being 24 instead of 26 ep. long.....

anyway,...good anime. I cared more about the flashbacks than the current events anyway. But I thought mitsuomi was the one supposed to kill Natsume Shin,..I mean he claimed that he did so before the flashbacks began, in the bowling alley right?!?!

I was curious about the same thing. I could have sworn Mitsoumi admitted to killing Shin and Maya had ill feelings towards him for that reason. But in episode 23, Mitsoumi was clearly down for the count while Mana and Shin (mutually?) ended Shin's life.

I felt the ending was rather lackluster and left many questions unanswered.

juiceald that's what I remember too, about mitsuomi supposedly being the one who killed Shin and that being the reason Maya disliked him, so that seemed a bit weird. As for the ending, it really wasn't much, since there were things unresolved.

I understand your dissapointment from the unconcluding episode that was shown as the last one.
But I personally really enjoyed watching this episode. It was fun and optimistic.
But maybe I'm so possitive about this last episode because I was prepared for dissapointment...

after my tiny vent about the "rushing" feel in the previous post, I''ll also add a few other things.

First off, Tawara Bunscinnhsi seriosuly was hilarious and made the anime less dark. Plus that smart-alek Fu-chan got so majorly ass-kicked at the end...it's like the animators really didn't hold back in painting that facial expression of his when his hands were GONE. lol.....
Plus, I dunno about u guys, but the death of that medical girlfriend of Natsume Shin was so sad and shocking, even tho I kinda suspected she was supposed to die anyway cuz she was only a flashback character :\ Man still she was such a hot lady.
Lastly, the final ep. 24's battle between mitsuomi and that rascally souichiro was kinda tame compared with their earlier face-off. It was like a 60 second battle that went by so fast, but I guess the excuse was that the real battle would take place later in the martial arts tournament preliminary (which we'll never see)

I am hoping they will have a second season. Maybe right now, they are just waiting for the manga to go further. At the beginning of the series, they did mention that Souchiro was supposed to be the strongest character, but we did not see him attain that status yet. Does anyone know if the series had good ratings in Japan? If so, we might be lucky enough for a second season.

What this companies need to realize is that this series (like champloo) were mostly aired during the summer... so you cant really expect high ratings imo when many people are in their vacations (that is if Japan really takes summer vacation during this months... maybe im just ignorant)

Start the 1-24 batch, wait a little bit, stop the torrent.
Then go to the directory you instructed the batch to save into and overwrite the (empty) files for 1-14 with the files you already have. Restart torrent. You now have connected to the tracker at a status of 58,3%. Happy downloading 15-24.

thanks for the help. but unfortunately i didn't keep any of the old files

so there wasn't a batch created that goes from 15-26? what about the individual files? can i get those somewhere? from 15 onwards?

Another option is to use the Azureus BT client. When you bring up the torrent details by double clicking it, one of the tabs shows all the files in the torrent. You should be able to set priorities so only the files you want will download.

I didn't find the ending to be that horrible, but it certainly wasn't that good either. However, want to know what I think what was real horrible? The fact that Fuu, which is probably my all-time favorite character, got a comeback after all my crying. Only to be killed 2 minutes after it! Now that really pissed me off.

Well, I just finished watching the whole series, and I gotta say, it's too bad that they stopped making episodes. Storyline is quite cool and when the flashbacks were done, not much happened in the present time.
Haha, whoever thought that Masataka would be a pervert, lol. You would think from first impression that this guy doesn't care about much. Heh, it's also funny how he's always getting knocked out of the way by everybody.

Nice but am I understanding correctly that the ova is comeing then the next season of tenjou tenge? I sure hope so since this show kicks ass. They should just continue after the second to last episode and completely disregarde the last pos ep. It was awesome just never ended and that last one was horrible beyond words.

Damn I just watched it and it wasn't exactly what I expected. I thought it would be the tournament, but instead it's just the people getting ready for the tournament. It's more like 2 additional episodes to atone for the lame ass ending of the original series.

yeah it's pretty lame if you think about him as having a 'super saiyen' mode, but if you think of it as he's turning into a demon instead, it's pretty cool (well that's just my opinion, I think the manga rox, go read it ^^)

Aya is one of the reasons why this show didnt become as good as it could have. I mean fighting your own sister and screaming "give me Souchiro-sama" ruined everything for me.....

Just finished watching this, the artwork and animation was mostly great, and it did have an engrossing storyline with interesting characters but I've still got a few niggles with it; it's a fairly short series, only 24 episodes long, this isn't normally a problem but when over half of those are flashbacks it does lose a lot of focus from the main story, not that it's a huge problem in this case becuase the older characters and story were mostly more interesting than the newer stuff.

Another problem is the fact it's kind of hard to really warm to any of the characters, something that's essential in any anime imo, just as you'd start liking one, they'd do something extremely irrititating/stupid that'd put you off them again.

Final problem is the extremely abrupt ending, this is a problem again caused by the fairly excessive use of flashbacks and there were so many loose ends when the series finished, which is a bit of a shame. Oh, and the sound track sucks.

Still, I feel a little guilty concentrating on just the negatives since I did enjoy this a lot, again, the animation and artwork are great, the voice acting is great as is the storyline mostly. I'd definately recommend this to people. 8/10.

EDIT: Just watched the OVA, goes someway to clearing things up but still a shame it doesn't show you how the preliminary matches turn out!

The thing i dont get about it is aya likes nagi and nagi likes maya and maya likes well sort of the captain of the enforcers and his brother likes aya so it's like a vicous circle. why cant nagi just like aya no no hes goin for the one way out of his league ill never understand
