First, you should say thanks to Lasaire and Kagari who worked very hard to get this to happen.

They've volunteered to become mods in order to make sure the sig rules are followed.

So, welcome our two new mods Lasaire and Kagari.

You can enable your sig by adding <img src="SigLinkHere"> in your profile.

Now, lets get down to the rules:

Maximum size for sigs is 400x80.

No animated sigs or avatars allowed.

This one should be obvious, but, NO NUDITY.

No advertising.

If you have a graphical sig then limit the text in your signature to 2 lines.

Do not add colors to the text area of sigs or change the default size of the text

Yay! Thanks, ciber, for finally listening to our pleas.

I'll work hard to make sure these rules are followed, and I won't have any hesitation in deleting somebody who's sig doesn't follow the rules.

So, don't abuse this!

I assume the 400X80 is a COMBINED total, including any text that you may have, etc, and not just the image itself? i.e. you can't have more than one 400X80 image, or you can't have the 400X80 image plus a paragraph of text?

Well I suppose this is a step in the right direction. But as I have said before, the lack of sigs is not the problem. It is this god aweful looking forum itself that turning off most of GW's former regulars such as myself.

400x80 is the image, and if you have an image, you may not have more than 2 ADDITIONAL lines of text.

So, Cmdr_Raven, you'd need to take out the line break in your quote, but otherwise you'd be fine. What this rule relates to is those people who prefer to have a pararaph in their sig. That's fine, but not if you also have a graphical signature.

And yes, Joker-kun, 400x80 is a different aspect ratio, so making a new sig to make the best use of the new size is the way to go. My current one is 250x75, which is just half of the old max size, but I'll be making a new one with the new size soon.

400x80 does not mean that you can't have something smaller, just that is the maximum size allowed.

Anything animated will definately *NOT* be coming back.

The forums will soon receive an update which will have builtin custom avatar capabilities as well as custom titles for the mods etc.

The color scheme etc will also be changing to its permanent one.

Wow this is awesome...

For anyone who's worried about sig size, you can open up your jpg in photoshop and just change the image size. i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif

As far as the forum layout goes, I am also getting used to it, and the interface is quite smooth. Hopefully, more people will start posting again once the sigs start adding colour and life to gotwoot!

2 questions.

1. Can it be animated if it's a small character with only 2-3 frames? If it's even smaller in size than a normal sig. Example: http://valethcosmo.free.fr/dio03.gif
2. Can one have multiple pics if each pic is very, very small? Example: http://members.xoom.virgilio.it/_XOOM/tensen/immagini3/deformed/5s/fugo.gif

Then I should have my itachi sig, animated as animated it should be the same rules for all, that's what I think.

Terracosmo, I hate to say this, but no animations means no animations. We can't make any exceptions.

Since I'm one of two mods whose primary job is to moderate sigs, this is how I handle violations: I first send a PM to the user and politely request that they have 24 hours to reread the rules and change their sig to fit the new rules.

I have already sent this a few times, and one of the two violators politely apologized, read the rules and changed it. Thank you! I hope that this is how all situations will go.

The second violator has yet to reply, and I am going to remove his sig later today.

I keep a record of who violates the sig rules, and if I have to ask a person more than once, or I remove their sig and they later replace it with another one against the rules, I will either temp or perm ban the person involved!

Well, I would say that since all your chibis are 1) non-animated and 2) In total, take up less than 400x80, I'd say we could just treat them as if they were combined into one 400x80 sig.

Don't forget, though, all your chibis must remain in a space of less than 400x80, and your text must be ONLY two lines. Thanks!

i had like a fit when they changed the fourms but hey i got used to it and i like it better now i think the fourms are way way faster and the sig/avatar rules arent bad either.

edit: can i keep my sasuke poem? it would get screwed up if i put it on two lines.

ok cool i wont have a sig but i have one more question, how do i upload an avatar i completely forgot. when i was fixing up my poem in my profile my avatar got changed to something else and i dont know how to fix it.

Because Ciber and others decided that they were too seizure-inducing. Even though I originally had an animated one myself, I tend to agree with Ciber, and even if we could have animated I probably wouldn't go back to it.
