For the past three days I haven't been able to get the torrents available at this site to work.... none of them. Naruto is what I'm really after though... I wasn't haveing problems until just three days ago. When I try to get a torrent, the loading bar at the bottom of the web browser just keeps going forever... and when I try to just save the torrent file to my computer, it does basicly the same thing, but in it's own little window (as would be expected..)

Anyone know what's wrong?

For one, are you sure that you have dsl internet (or equilvalent or higher)

Either that or the site was temporarly down. Keep trying, it could be another lame bt error.

The problem is obviously is the car2-2-v2.dllstx2.theplanet.com router. The site itself definitely isn't down, I just misused Babelfish as a proxy and it could reach www.gotwoot.net with no problems, apparently. It would be really nice of you guys if you could contact your provider and tell them about the problem.

I havn't been able to download using torrents in the last couple
of days either. I have a fast connection, been downloading here
for about a year, (I'm trying to get Naruto 72).

I'm having the same difficulties, I click on the link and
the status bar just grows slowely then stalls.

Its not my connection I have been downloading manga by
direct links over the last few days and my IRC works as
well. I've tried reinstalling Bittorent 3.3 and then switched to
the Shadow client.

Well, I've figured out that it's just torrents hosted at a.scarywater.net (Which is a lot of the good fan-subbers' place...) And I know it has to be somthing with my on-campus broadband (cable) because at home on my 56k over the weekend, I tried it and it worked fine. Except being slow of course, but thus is the nature of 56k...

I can go to a.scarywater.net and actually see the site, but I can't download the torrents...

A lot of colleges and schools have p2p programs blocked. Just in case you didn't know.

Not this one. And torrents from other hosts work, just not a.scarywater.net...

I did a search on yahoo and found this link
talking about severs going down.

http://www.webhostingtalk.com/archive/thread/236219-1.html ('http://www.webhostingtalk.com/archive/thread/236219-1.html')

I still can't get nothing and it seams to effect more than my gotwoot downloads.

the a.scarynet servers are popular due to animesuki directing to them. It's possible the tracker for your particular torrent/torrents is overloaded and unable to successfully respond to your request.

when i try to download some files from here, i get this error message:
problem getting response info - [Errno 2] No such file or directory:
im using shadow's bt s-5.8.11

it only happens to some torrents. not exclusive to goot woot.

You have to save the torrent to your disk first and then open it... dont just click the link... right-click and save as

Ok... gonna say this again.

I can't download the torrents. I cannot interact with the torrents in anyway. It's like they're not there at all. So, right-clicking and saying Save As, will result in me not getting anything, as the torrent seems to not be there. (I know it is, other people can get it, just not me or anyone on my campus.)

I asked the people who run the campus' internet, and they say there shouldn't be anything wrong with it, they don't block anything. So, I don't know what's going on.

Roger that, I have pretty much given up on bittorrent from gotwoot and from one other site, all the others work fine. Just wondering, but has anyone who is an admin even looked into this problem? Here is the problem as I see it.

A torrent file is just any standard file to the computer, it should simply ask you to save the file when you right click and do a SAVE AS. This is not accessing any bittorrent programs, so there should be no problem unless it is server side. Unfortunately, the server just does not respond, and so the download box just sits there and does nothing.

I've already moved on from the gotwoot files since I haven't had any luck in a while, actually in almost 2 weeks. Everyone else works fine, so as far as I can tell it is a problem with the site. Though I like these subs the best, I guess I have to settle for subs that work.
