The reason I am asking this is cause I made a bet with a friend who thinks he is actually a ninja. What a moron, saying that Chidori and Lightning Cutter are two different moves. Now I know in episode 67 Gai said that Chidori was also names Lightning Cutter because Kakashi once cut through lightning with it once. Don't know how that is possible but... Just want to get the answer from other people.

kakashi's originally move is called chidori aka 1000 birds aka lightning edge aka raikira aka lightning cutter

ive never actually heard the name lightening cutter to refer to that or any other move, the names used for it are 1. its real name, chidori 2. raikira, which i think is the japanese name for...3. lightning EDGE, its nickname, given after kakashi cuts a bolt of lightning with it.

by the way, dan, your sig is much much too big, the restriction (listed in the pinned topics entiled somthing along the lines of "rules" on every forum) dictate that sigs be no larger than 500x150.

sig removed for now, till you get it down to size

this is nothing you can have an opinion on it is the same move and it is called chidori(1000 birds) or Raikiri(lightning edge). now do you win the bet or do you lose it?

Oh it's edge. I thought it was cutter cause that is what my friend called it. So that 50 dollars are as good as mine. Thank you all.

here's something to think about..

in a recent manga poll (polls that are published in the manga) about the favorite attack, Rakiri and Chidori were both there under diffrent spot, implying that they are diffrent, but i guess it was a transelation mistake, since they are the same move...

never mind that, you are now 50 dollars richer than yesterday...

I have 50 dollars exact, and so does he. He was so confident that Raikiri and Chidori were two different moves he made a bet with me, just that I got to decide how much. He doesn't even watch the anime as much. He watched up to 48 so far. I told him that chidori comes out in episode 67 but no he had to go to a stupid fan site and get the info. What is even more embrassing is that Raikiri wasn't even on their jutsu list. Also the person who maintains the site only got up to episode 2. I would never base my facts on something as stupid as that.
