I was using Aim today as usual and all of a sudden I get an im from a friend saying something like "Yo check this out." I clicked the link and nothing showed up on the page. Anyhow I replied and his response was that he didn't send any link to me and that iI shouldn't click it. I started to panic and ran ad-aware, spybot search & destroy and norton. I found nothing but I get the feeling that it could be a trojan. Anyways about an hour later, I get an im from someone else on my buddylist telling me that the page doesn't load. I was like what doesn't load. I was told that I sent a link. Apparently this link goes to some site with some bin laden game or something like that. I've never heard of or went to that site in my life, and i do not know what the hell was going on. I also wondered if this someone had hacked into my account but i've heard that others had the same problem. So does anyone know of this?

Yeah i just heard about that a couple hours ago. Crazy shit, its been happening to a lot of people. Don't really know what to do about it. I guess just don't click on random links and i would probably change my password.

I'm wondering to what extent is it as far as being harmful. Trojans could be pretty nasty. So far it seems to be more of an annoyance. I'm not one to take chances so I guess I'll scan again with norton and some good anti trojan scanners. This really sucks because if it's something new then norton probably hasn't yet got a fix for it.

I can't use housecall to scan my computer either. It says thats another housecall is running. Anyone know what to do?

-- Well I just uninstalled AIM so I don't spread it to my friends. If there's any update on this, please let us know.

check task manager for any process running that looks suspicious and end task it then try to run antivirus software again.

EDIT: Also check the properties on internet explorer (if that is your browser for the web) and check "View Objects" to see if they're things installed there that shouldn't be. I just found 2files there that i didn't install. The only ones i know for sure i dled were shockwave and flash

That happened to my sister around November. Her friend sent her a message like, "Hey check out this picture I found of you on the web"

She clicked the link and she is still infected to this day...

Ok back with an update on this. I had submitted a report to aim.com a few nights ago and today i see that they've added to their report list i quote:
</div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td>QUOTE </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'>Online Safety/Security FAQ
Important Information
We have received reports that a number of AIM users have received Instant Messages from someone on their Buddy List asking them to check out the following link: (I took out the link so no one clicks it by accident), but it has the name osama in it so watch out for that. IF YOU RECEIVE THIS MESSAGE, DO NOT CLICK ON THE LINK, EVEN IF IT COMES FROM SOMEONE ON YOUR BUDDY LIST.* This link takes users to a web site that asks them to download a game. If the user agrees to download the game, the web site also installs a secret &quot;adware&quot; program on the user&#39;s machine that can deliver unwanted advertisments and promotions. The adware program will also send the same link out to every person on the user&#39;s Buddy List -- spamming their friends and associates with a link to the same adware.* HERE&#39;S THE FIX:If you have already clicked on the link and downloaded that software, you can remove the adware program from your machine by clicking on Start --&#62; Control Panels --&#62; Add/Remove Programs and then removing the applications related to:
** • BuddyLinks
** • PSDT Messaging Integration
** • PSD Tools ChannelUp v1.0 (remove only)
Additionally, if you have downloaded this program, you may want to alert friends and associates on your Buddy List how they can remove this software.
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
More information about this adware can be found at Network Associates Inc. ('http://vil.nai.com/vil/content/v_101007.htm')* </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'>

and good news is that network associates said </div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td>QUOTE </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'>This is not a virus or trojan. It is an potentially unwanted program that requires users to download an installer, agreeing to the terms of the program, which includes sending a messages to all users on your AOL Instant Messenger buddy list with a link to the installer page.</td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'>
