I liked the episode.. not extreem actione but Oro Hokage was nice.. Orochimaru is cool, and hokage in black fighting suite was cool. Loved the playing arround with jutsus to just test eachoter out. And summoning the previous Hokages was great. I wonder if the summoned kage&#39;s have the same strength they had when they where alive, in that case the old fart could have some trouble http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/smile.gif..

Shino is definitively up to something. It&#39;s been 2 episodes in a row that he&#39;s been shown spying for a few seconds. I wonder what though. I guess we&#39;ll find out soon enough.

it was pretty cool episode, although i admit it felt very very short...

there were some pretty cool scenes though, like when Gai saved Naruto and blasted him through that concrete wall&#33; that was awesome&#33;&#33; It kinda stunned me there&#33;

and when the third hokage was using those earth and fire jutsu combined, you could really feel there was a clear difference between a jounin and a hokage... and the creativity level of a hokage is SooOOo much higher than a normal ninja ( well a jounin)... i mean stuff like shruiken kage bunshin no jutsu is some pretty neat stuff&#33;..

i saw that and i freakin was amazed. that is sometimes really good about naruto anime, they add things to the fights, i don think they have ever taken anything away. sometimes they do messs thigns up by bad drawing but the anime is still real great and holds true to the manga.


edit: the gai punch did look amazing in the manga. i think it looked more kickass in the manga b/c it looked more dramatic then the anime made it seem.

but what can u do, there isnt a way to change it so we have to live with it.

Now don&#39;t say that, this is showing how much Kohonamaru really cares for his grandfather and also that the leafs are trying to protect thier own at the same time.

Well Oro is going to win.. Now it will be very easy for Oro..Hokage is fighting both the first and the second now.. I thouth that Oro would win without there help and now when he has there help there is no doubt that Oro will win.. Well Neji is probably in the Hospital for now.. Kin and Zaku may be there but i doubt that the will live when Oro or Kabuto gets a hold of them.. Like Oro said before, the are nothing more than a sacrifice.. So eather they will be killed if they go back to the Sound or they will desert to Konoha.. That would be cool.. But i think they are to blood thirsty (sp?) to be in Konoha..

And for Kabutos team mates i think Konoha have put 2 and 2 together and knows the are also spies..

This one was cool. Can&#39;t wait to see oro and the 3rd bust out with some more super jutsus.
I didn&#39;t mind the fillers too much because the action was good and there were some funny moments, especially with pakkun and the paw. That was a WTF LOL moment.
Sakura continues to be annoying as ever, shika cool and naruto was naruto. Its kinda nice to see the goofball back in action after what seemed like a long break.

Well the whole Konohamaru class thing.... when Moegi&#39;s pencil broke that music came on which usually comes on when something very bad happens or is just about to happen... and then I was like huh????? They just started to talk about her pencil. As for the First and Second Hokage&#39;s, I don&#39;t think they are at full strength... I mean come on even if the Third is stronger than each of them both of them combined WITH Orochimaru... Third would just suffer a heart attack and die because of the fear.

It was interesting how the Third stopped the third summon... I first thought that it was a dead version of the Third himself and if it was summoned the Third would die.... though later that didn&#39;t make sense so the obvious person it could be was the Fourth. So I think that the 3rd is going to have to end up summoning the 4th himself if he is going to stand a chance of winning this fight.

Also, on a side note I think that Gai is going to fight Kabuto. My reason is that Kakashi is going to be needed to use Chidori to break through the fire force field and break it. Since that would use alot of chakra (then again, for Kakashi it may not be that much) Gai is going to be the elite Jounin who takes on Kabuto.

Well it&#39;s not necessary for a person to be stronger than the summon. You sure need strong chakra to summon, but after that the summon fights using its own chakra.

Well, by the time that he was aware of the summonings I guess it was to late to stop the first two... and the third one that is the 4th hokage is probably the strongest of all of them so his priority was to stop that one

the 3rd doesn&#39;t break out because, as mentioned, it can only be broken from the inside.. and the 4 made a 2nd layer of shields between them and the 3rd -- which also can only be broken from the inside; the 3rd is on the outside so he can&#39;t break them

basically i guess he has to be able to directly attack the people who made the shields to break them. and when they&#39;re enclosed on both sides in the shield i guess it can&#39;t be broken

well giving the 3rd the respectg he deserves he can probably break it, but it wont be easy and its not like he can take his eyes off oro at the moment, so i guess he&#39;s stuck fighting them

the reason the 4th didn&#39;t surface was a different one in the manga and made more sense.. i&#39;m not sure why they changed it. not sure if they&#39;ll explain why only teh 4th didn&#39;t show up in the anime or not.. i guess we&#39;ll have to wait and see =p

OMG the 3rd looked sooooo badass. That hokage summoning move by oro is the biggest wuss move ever. Oro is a freakin&#39; coward for letting others fight for him. and damn he brought the 1st and 2nd&#33; Poor Saru-sama has to bust his ass fighting 2 hokages and a sennin at the same time. No matter how strong a person is, 2 hokages are too much to handle. I bet that Oro was so frightened to fight Sarutobi-sama one on one.

Yeah, it was a good episode, but much didn&#39;t really happen. But I loved to see Orochimaru and Sarutobi fight, even I think that was just the beginning of their fight. Hmm, I guess the only bad thing in this episode was that there was a lot of not very intresting stuff. For example the rainbow and Konohamaru + his little friends stuff. After this episode I read the manga a bit again, and I noticed that there weren&#39;t any of this extra stuff.

have you actually been following this series? how many times have you seen them use that jutsu? oro used it in the forest, kakashi exchanging himself for a log many times, it&#39;s a replacement technique and it&#39;s meant to surprise your opponent and evade an attack to create a chance to attack, and if you actually understood this ep then you would know they were just playing with eachother

I thought the part where Orochi summoned the 1st and 2nd Hokage&#39;s was a bit overdone for my tastes. If Orochi is more poweful than all those Hokages, then it&#39;s understandable... but he has to be pretty damn powerful to summon 3 Hokages in an instant with ease.
Either that or:
1. Hokages arent all that strong.
2. the summons arent as strong as the real thing.
I honestly dont know how powerful any of these guys are, so im in no position to jump into any conclusions.
It&#39;s just that i would only expect sumthing like this from the last mother boss at the end of the series, being it&#39;s THAT good a technique.

I&#39;m also anxious to see what Shino has in store. We&#39;ve hardly seen much of his abilities, and i bet he&#39;s really strong since he knows everything thats going on and dispelled the genjutsu. Though he never really was one of my fav characters, i can&#39;t wait to see what he can really do.

I thought episode 69 definitely ruled. Sasuke was gaining on Gaara, Pakku was biting Shikamaru (who was never really under the illusion spell, lol), and Gai whooped some serious ass (&quot;He&#39;s Fast&quot; &quot;Not just fast, [BAM&#33;]&quot;). One thing i was really upset about is Shino. I read some past posts in this topic, but i was really surprised to see someone so cool be such a...well...wuss. Why is he just hiding in the shadows? He may be planning something, but, come on, he&#39;s definintely one of the stronger Genin (and definitely Chuunin Level), and I personally think he could take Sound Ninja without any trouble. Hokage finally looked like what he&#39;s supposed to look like. No more hanging around talking, he actually threw down and took Orochimaru for a while. The ANBU team was all like &quot;He&#39;s so strong,&quot; and he really was. I was real disappointed to see that about 7 minutes in total were wasted by Konohamaru and Iruka (POINTLESS&#33;&#33;&#33;&#33;&#33;)...I hope NAruto isn&#39;t gonna turn out to be another DBZ-type anime (by that I mean good for the first couple sagas, then you get the episodes where people stand around, wondering what move they COULD have used to win)...As the Naruto fan I consider myself to be, I couldn&#39;t get to sleep immediately last night, so I watched ep 69 twice more, wondering what episode 70 is gonna be like...

It seems that the 1st got older, like in his 40&#39;s, then handed the reigns over to the younger 2nd.

Sarutobi is the last name of the 3rd Hokage. Saru means Monkey in Japanese. That is why Kishimoto named him Sarutobi. Sarutobi Asuma is a relative of the 3rd Hokage, he looks even more like a monkey. We are not sure if Konohamaru is the son of Asuma or what, but he is most likely his nephew, I doubt they are brothers.

As for the earlier posts.... in Japan the surname comes before the first name right? So being called Sarutobi Asuma would mean that your first name is Asuma right?

I don&#39;t think that Sarutobi is his first name, it just doesn&#39;t sound like it should be a first name. I am sure they just showed their sensei&#39;s more respect that then. These young kids use their sensei&#39;s first names....

Alright, where to begin, First I think I will say that itachi&#39;s posts let on much more then I wanted to hear, I didnt highlight the spoilets, but he hinted at things that some people might not have picked up and hinted at things to come, he really needs a ban to remind him not to do this.

My take on the situation though is.

Kakashi will definitly not try to break the sekkai with the chidori because he will get killed like that moron anbu who jumped into it did.
As for the first two hokages being summoned, we all know orichimaru has a weird talent of being able to wear other peoples faces as masks, and other nasty things with the dead, so I am sure he has some summoning technique to make the dead hokages appear from somewhere http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/tongue.gif.
Why are the anbu so shitty, they are supposed to be the protectors of the villiage but they suck, they could&#39;nt see the assload of sand and sound ninjas hiding in the forest, they get killed easily over and over again, im not too impressed with them as I used to be.
Im not certain, but I think Jiraiya might show up in the next few episodes again, he hasn&#39;t been in quite a few of them but, why WOULD&#39;NT one of the legendary sennin show up in a bigass fight like this to flaunt his stuff http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/tongue.gif
I am also looking forward to seeing what (forgot his name the guy with the nasty head who did the first chuunin exam test) is going to do, hes sorta holding down the fort atm, but he might do something cool soon.

i seem to notice as well how manga readers like to wait until an episode is released and then throw in all the theories and hints that might be noticeable in the current or previous episode, but what most viewers wouldnt notice had they not done so. After watching that episode, it made me feel like the manga version skipped to oro&#39;s summoning technique too quickly. That earth dragon move rocks.

I wonder if that kinda technique originated from the earth village. Which also makes me wanna see kakashi use more jutsus against the sound nins. He&#39;s supposed to know 1000s of techniques but all he&#39;s been doin so far is stabbing people with kunais and whatnot.

I agree with ya terra. Also i think the animation technique they used for the funny pakkun/shika moment may be used in cooler context later, its like a colorified version of the naruto berserk mode style. or w/e. btw good to have u back moderatin terra.

This being my first post in a while, I&#39;ll risk flogging a dead horse here: I really enjoyed the episode, the amount of action and the structure of the various stories was characteristicly appetising, with the little shots of things like pakkun changing direction serving, as usual, to make a week seem impossibly long, but i really think the little shots of konohamaru and co. were somehow disjointed. If it was some charcter that could potentially make a bit of difference in the battle or story that had been suspensfully figuring out that somthing was wrong, i would have been happier, but as it is, i dont see him genuinely being able to.....change anything...why waste time building atmosphere around him? otherwise i really loved the episode and am dying for the weekend

I think this was an awesome ep. they explained alot but not to much to where it spoiles the story, they showed bits and pieces of the hokage fight but made it so that they can continue the fight later, i thtink they did a good job filling in alot of ppls questions, while still having alot to be answered. personally i think ep 70 will be just as good as 69.

im still wondering what was up with the pencil splitting.

and also what kind of skill pakkun has. specealy after what kakashi said

yeah, i had forgotten about that, next to pakkun&#39;s behavior itself (puts gai to shame completely, that dog does) the pencile thing was one of the most random things i have seen in Naruto...

kakashi&#39;s little thing was really annoyingly suggestive, and if you think, some of the best fighters, like gai and lee, are some of the quirkiest, so yeah, i hope we get to witness him in action, with more than shika&#39;s hand...

Which transelated means Miss, and you can also say dono to a male, it&#39;s Mr.

Dono is a higher version of respect, and it&#39;s applied to Samurais (Karou is close enough to be a samurai, since she is a dojo leader) or the empire (Makidou-dono).

it&#39;s applied usually to males (since Samurais were males) but it&#39;s not un-heard off to aply it to females.

Sama is the general highest, you can say sama on everyone, Sensei,Shinsho, Dono and Senpai have pre-requirements

I actually almost forgot about that fight. Was kinda cool when Gemma tells Sasuke to follow after the Gaara &amp;co and he threw the kunais that knocked down Gaara&#39;s leaders&#39; attempt to hit Sasuke.
He executed that with such ease.
