HAHA, yeah I used to watch the Silver Hawks, but even back then I realized they were just a Thundercats clone http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/wink.gif

It wasn't a bad show though, just not one of my favorites. The main Silverhawk was cool though. The one that couldn't talk got on my nerves though http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/wink.gif

Their was one I remember, but am vague on...

It was set in space and this one guy had a horse that could transform and stand up, then become a normal horse again.

I also remember one set in space where in one episode a guy's bionic arm was going nuts and tried choking him. Not sure what years they were though.

I remember Bravestar
Galaxy Rangers
Ninja Turtles
Thundercats >
Captain Planet...speaking of which, as I got older I realized how Captain Planet and his Planeteers (particularly that "Heart!" kid) are some of the weakest superheroes ever created

You must be speaking about Brave Starr... and indeed it was the best show ever, though I dont remember much other than he saying stuff like "strength of a bear", "eyes of an eagle" or things like that...

I was a fan of Silverhawk, Thundercats, He-man, Ninja Turtles... And I also used to watch some cartoon that I think it was "Ghostbusters", but they were not the Ghostbusters we know... they were different, I think they were a pair, and had a talking telephone made out of bones...

I also used to own almost all the GI Joes action figures... I once froze some of them because I thought that way I could preserve them...

Hey, I'm also born in '82, it seems like we lead pretty similar lives, Hatake Kakashi, hahah http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I watched and loved most of the stuff you listed there including Transformers, He-Man, Sheera (but wasn't she He-Man's cousin?), Thundercats and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (I was an insane fanatic!).

One thing you didn't mention - Astro Boy! That was a religious experience; I cared about it more than life itself. http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/wink.gif Also Voltron, another series I was obsessed with.

I was also a figurine nut, like you I had and still have nearly every single He-Man figure, hundreds of them I swear. That collection's gotta be worth a lot surely, seeing as you can't buy them anywhere. I also have the entire Voltron figurine collection, each seperate robot transforms and connects to form the giant Voltron, still works too! Not to mention all the turtles figures I have around too. I should get them all out and stand them all up around my desk! http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Music consisted of Guns 'n' Roses (introduced to me by my cousins), Michael Jackson, Megadeath, Skidrow, the Proclaimers, and New Kids on the Block. Not to forget my all time favorite, Roxette! http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Ah, now I'm all misty eyed and choked up. So many memories! http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/wink.gif

Yeah, Roxette rocks, specially "Dressed for Success" and "Fading Like A Flower"...

I also listened (listen) to INXS, The Police, and my guilty pleasure of Queen

Born 1982, I was obsessed with Transformers, Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles etc...

also liked he-man, thundercats, dino riders etc...

Music Michael Jackson and Madonna at the time, though they both started sucking around the mid-90's...also one of the coolest songs of the 80's was sweet dreams by eurythmics

Born in 1981 here and I've noticed your all only mentioning the more boyish shows http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/tongue.gif. Well I had a older sister and I would watch anything once so along with all of the above choices I'm going to name any missed ones I watched atleast once.

Robotech sure it was on at 5AM on saturday but hell I was a morning person back then.

Care Bears come on we all know we watched them at that age.

Glowworms/my little pony/others this was a grouping of shows realy short
episodes like 15 minutes long each and you never knew what it was until you watched that day as they rotated.

The Wuzzels Wierd animal things like a half elephant/half kangaroo with wings none the less.

The Littles

Go-Bots Transformers younger borther also had cross overs with Transformers and the Rock lords.

Rainbow bright (oh god this was bad villians stealing the color of things)

Pound Puppies

My Little monster That blue thing that broke its chains (I could be very wrong on this name)

Ghostbusters(yes the cartoon version with things like a fight between vampires and were wolves when they kept changing people back and fourth between what they were)

Basically we watched a lot of BAD TV usually on saturday morning from 5AM - 12 noon was the best time. Or of course the time slot covering whenever you were suppose to be in church http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/wink.gif.

I'm sure I will think of more later as for Transformer Toys There back http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/wink.gif they are doing rereleases of the orignal Transformers toys diecast and everything and if you get the japanese ones missiles that can take out a eye like there suppose to.

All these good cartoons http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/wink.gif its a shame saturday morning cartoons now SUCK. All this PC crap annoys the hell out of me for instance anyone see the BUTCH woman on the new TMNT that had a buzz cut and was leading some sort of military group. Or of course Baxter stockman suddenly being BLACK. Watching Cartoons that were once great be redone with politically correct overtones makes my skin crawl.

Their are still cartoons on Saturday Mornings? I remember getting up early to watch them, but now it doesn't seem like their are any on during the afternoon or night.

Remember the Disney Afternoon during the early 90's? Those shows were awesome, not as good as the 80's stuff, but they were quality cartoons. Ducktales, Rescue Rangers, Gummi Bears, etc.. I think some of those were late 80's too..

Ducktales kind of jumped the shark though when Bubba showed up with his dinosaur. Gizmo Duck was cool though. I remember watching that one hour special with him in it.

yeah, I liked the story arc that took them back into like medieval times. That was pretty cool cause their were Gummy Knights and stuff like that.

I think the theme song is on that .WAV page I linked too. I remember getting the Cubby figure when I went to the mall one time.

I have a sister who is two years younger than me, so I watched some of those shows. She really liked Jem and the Holograms for some reason. Same with Care Bears and My Little Pony.

Also, Nickelodeon had a SHIT LOAD of good stuff on its own -

David the Gnome

Double Dare

City of Gold

Heathcliff - Great opening theme song

Plus the first anime that I ever watched and didnt even know it - Grimms Fairy Tales. It was awesome, done by Studio Nippon in Japan. They adapted some of the classic Grimms fairy tales and brought them to Japan and then America. Stuff like Pussnboots, Rumpelstiltskin, etc.. I wish I could get that whole series on DVD.

There was also one that had two Killua's, Pinky and Blinky and they were trying to help this girl find her dad. He was trapped in their dimension or something in a bubble, it was pretty cool.

To listen to all of these old cartoon theme songs, check out this awesome page.

I highly reccomend Grimms Fairy Tales, Heathcliff, Denver the Lost Dinosaur, and David the Gnome.

Inspired by VH1 Specials

I hope we have some people on here who are old like me and can remember stuff.

Well just say what you liked, and shit like that.

Toys-Cartoons

Transformers - Favorite was Grimlock, the T-Rex. Loved the Cartoon, and the toys were pretty damn cool back in the day. I wish I had bought more and kept them in the box.. The best episode is when the original 3 dinobots when bad, and the two new ones had to be sent in to snap them out of it.

GI JOE - Was it wrong for me to root for Stormshadow? He was so damn cool. I remember how his figure always got stolen during elementary school. The theme song for this show is still one of the best. Looking back it is evident they revived the franchise because of the whole Cold War thing. My favorite episode is when Cobra tried to make the ultimate leader using DNA samples from Seargent Slaughter, Sun Tzu, Napolean, etc..

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe - I had to have nearly all the He-Man figures. My favorite was Snout Spout, the Elephant dude. I have to say my favorite episode was the one where Mechaneck, finds his son.

She-Ra Princess of Power - He-Man's twin sister gets her own series. The first 5 episodes show He-Man going to this other planet to find her. It is a good series in itself. My favorite character was this Air Pirate dude. The episode I like best is when he found his long lost father and fought him in a light saber like duel. Some He-Man characters made guest appearances.

Thundercats - One of my favorites. It started getting really good when Linxo, Pumira, and Bengali showed up. It was so cool how their were other Thunderians that survived. It started getting dumb though when they left 3rd Earth and went back to Thundera. I actually have the ultra rare Pumira action figure, but its not in the box.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - I remember watching the series premiere of this and just going nuts. Luckily my mom worked at a toy store, so I got to get a lot of the figures. My first one was Raphael. My favorite episodes were the Raph solo ones, like him on the boat fighting these weird slug things. He was awesome.

yeah I know, I watched way too much TV. I still do.

Music

I didn't really listen to music back then, other than what my parents played around the house. Which was mostly.

Paula Abdul
Lisa Lisa and Colt Jam
Michael Bolton

thats about it. I was born in 1982, so by the time I got to kindergarten in 88 the 80's were nearly over.

Don't make me feel old, someone jump in.

Thinking about the 80s for 20 seconds these are what popped into my head first.…

The little bits... I was so glad when she found her parents... cries hehehe
David the Gnome.... I think they died and turned to wood.... that makes me sad too....
Mr.Magoo….The cartoon wasn’t bad, but it was a relatively constant source of nightmares when I was a kid…..
Inspector gadget: I had the hots for penny, but she seemed to smart for me

Some kids book where a Tractor dug out the foundation for a building then couldn't get out because the walls were square, and he would ruin them if he tried..... Sad book; they made him a stove or something lame.... (I honestly stayed up that night trying to ponder the meaning of the book all I could come up with is sometimes one must suffer for the good of the many….. What a suckie moral.

Trumpeter of the swan. A swan that can’t speak without using a horn… He goes to school learns to read and write… Somewhere along the way his father steals a trumpet for him. Sad/happy book…
Rats of Nimh… Sad book

Sweatpants…. Or the lack there of…. I liked wearing sweatpants when I was a kid. They’re comfortable, quick, and good for recess, but anyway when you wear sweatpants it makes it obvious where your Johnson is. A girl I went to school with would always point it out and say I was playing pocket pool. (At that age I honestly didn’t even know what pocket pool was, but I knew it must have been a bad thing…) Because of this one girl I stopped wearing sweatpants. …

Beach boys….. They had lots of bad songs in the 80’s pick one….

Out of this world. It was a tv show about a girl named evie she was half alien half human. On her 16th birthday she got the power to stop time.

Perfect strangers. Pretty much a straight shooting american guy with a wacky foreign cousin. Balki would do something odd larry would try to fix it then they would do the dance of joy.

Fight of the navigator. A sentient space ship needs to dump its memory for a quick reboot so it uses the brain of an 8 year old kid. They end up traveling at the speed of light for a minute or 2 and the rest of the world ages by 8 years while the main character stays the same age. I forgot how they fix this… travel backwards for 2 minutes at the speed of light?

I think it was called warriors of the sun….. There were 3 kids and they wanted some sort of robotic golden bird to fly in. 2 boys 1 girl some evil dude wanted the bird to.

edit

Some alien show called V. They ate mice and needed human brains for something.... I watched it when I was like 3 I don't remember much about it. I think they also had movies based off the tv show.
