To create the ultimate fighter you need to first create the ultimate monster for him to defeat.

In a manga called Tenjo Tenge they kind of used this theme and I think it would apply to Naruto. Although in Tenjo Tenge, they had to creat the Hero, and the Monster, not the fighter and the monster.

Naruto is the hero, Sasuke could possibly be the monster if he continues down his chosen path. I am thinking long term here, so don&#39;t bring up Orochimaru or Itachi.

A fighter/hero is nothing without a equally powerful monster to overcome. Then he can be the ultimate.
