I'm going to buy two katana's very soon, just wondering i want a "REAL" japanese katana not a fake one from china or some other asian country, 100 % japanese? how can I in an easily way check that it is made Japan? Like a verification that it's from Japan.

I recently bought a 14th century katana and it came with an authenticity certificate and a scroll with some history the sword was involved with. (I need to learn how to read the funny little symbols it is written in though.) http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/dry.gif

I bought it in Niigata when I was visiting a friend of mine last November. I couldn't read the name on the shop(more funny symbols).

Sharpness is key. I had mine laser sharpened. It parts flesh at the lightest touch. Deadly mofo.

Dotanuki swords....

That is the type of katana that Ogami Itto uses in the Lone Wolf & Cub manga.

The extra info at the back of the volumes gives information on the weapon. Quite a formidable sword indeed.
