I'd say your pretty lucky only losing 10 GB. About three months ago I had on of my hard drives crap out on me, over 140 GB of my best anime down the crapper.

bah sorry to hear man...
Have you thought about trying a file restore type program. You know when you delete something it doesnt well get totally deleted less you use a info wipe or some govt wipe.There still a chance that it could be on your HDD. There could be a change that you could find your anime or some still on your HDD, cuz the drive itself is still working? correct?
It should be easier to find, cuz you didnt format it nor use a info deleter. If its there that is.
Good luck nothingtheless

I reckon i suffered more than any of you here. I managed to fill up both my HD's and one HD died totally, and the other one got infected, at the SAME FRIGGING TIME! >_O;;
When it happened, i lost 400GBs worth of anime. 400GBs!!! >_<;
Anyway, since then i've been working my way back up. I've now managed to fill one HD, and working on the other one. But now i have backup DVD images, so i'm going to have to buy another HD later.
Anyway, as for System Restore, by Default windows has it on automatically and set to about 15% of your total HD space. It makes checkpoints automatically as well every few days, and deletes redundant ones after either:
1) a set amount of time has passed or,
2) the allocated 15% has been maxed.
So the System restore might actually recover them, but i don't know. Just give it a try i guess? Choose the nearest date you can which has a checkpoint on it. If it dosn't recover anything, you could easily restore the PC to the way it was before you ran the system restore (The System restore 'always' makes a restore point when you try to use a restore point. In case you lose stuff you didn't want to lose, or the restore didn't help much and ended up with disadvantages than benefits.)

Actually, the moral of the story is burn the episodes into cds and keep your anti-virus updated

Yep, support the anime community by buying the DVDs. But don't go over budget, cause that helps no-one.

There is a downside to buying anime DVDs. The greedy company jackoffs realize that if they bring more anime to us we will buy it so they licence our beloved fan-subbed anime like Naruto and One Piece. Lousy greedy screws. http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/mad.gif
