Lee can't use chakra except on taijutsu. Using taijutsu also takes chakra. It's just that Lee doesn't have ANY skill in ninjutsu or genjutsu. And to those who say that Lee doesn't have chakra (yeah I'm watching you! http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/ph34r.gif ) if Lee didn't have any chakra he would be DEAD! http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/sad.gif

well, there is a color picture of Lee in the manga and he has a blue forehead protector like everyone else. so the color in the anime is just a cosmetic thing..

Theory is that they both reached ninja status through some "special way".
For example, Lee can't mold chakra outside his body, but he is an taijustu master, so that's how he became ninja.
For Gai, it could be the same reason or maybe it deals with opening gates capability.

yes but it hasnt even been proven that gai is taijitsu only has it?
if so that would explain it since the final exam seems to usually have been a genjitsu
(naruto failed 3x, he sucked at genjitsu and rock lee was year b4 naruto graduated?)

nothing to do with opening gates, it shows it in lees flasbacks of when he first gets assigned to gai, when he had long hair.

Hummm so i guess naruto and lee had classes together. but then agane they alwas had bushi no jitsu as the Final Test? so how did Lee Graduate? ok i think we found a plot hole. Less they were both doing same classes but diffent group. odds are naruto's group was alwas given his worst skill because of lack of people wanting him to be a ninja

well, i dunno. Technically, Naruto never mastered the bushin no jutsu, but the more advanced kage bushin no jutsu to become a genin. I guess there are exceptions, and same probably went for Lee.

The leaf symbol is still the same, and the metal is still gray. Some people use blue straps some use red others green... I guess it’s just a mater of choice.

Gai isn&#39;t taijutsu only. We know if nothing else he can summon. I think your instructor picks what your final test will be on. Perhaps lee&#39;s was on something taijutsu related.

Also just a side note Lee has used genjutsu on at least one occasion. He has fake cuts and bruises in ep 21. I would guess the thing where he wraps people up with his band aids must be a ninjutsu too….

I think they just wanted to be different (or I should say GAI wanted to be different, and Lee copied XD) but yeah... it&#39;s just little quirks in the characters, same with how other characters wear them differently on their bodies.
