Its believed that the 4th is his father no one knows for certain. As to his mother well its probably oddly enough the demon fox. If you go back into myth and look up the 9 tailed demon fox it was chased down and to escape it hid as a woman, it killed the princess of some lesser kingdom and took her place. Later it was uncovered and forced to fight its way out of the kingdom. If its closely based on the myth then Naruto's mom is the demon fox.

it would explane as to why he couldnt transform into many things well, but could transfor into the female form really easy

also this upcoming movie is supposingly about a snow princess, so jumpin to conclusions im reckoning...

the 4th hockage fell in love with this snow princess, but then the princess was killed and the 9 tails took its place,

later on, naruto was born and the 9 tails couldnt hold the form, somthin wierd happened and the 9 tails went absolutly balistic attacking the hidden village of leaf,

when the forth hokage sealed the 9 tails, he used the last of his chakra to do the sealing technique thus killing him

this is a long shot, but if im right, i want a prize

I tend to agree that the 4th is Naruto&#39;s dad, but there&#39;s one problem with this theory. If the 4th was Naruto&#39;s dad, wouldn&#39;t everyone know? Cause all the adults know that the kyuubi is sealed in Naruto, if Naruto was truly the son of the 4th, everyone would know that, especially people like the 3rd Hokage, or maybe even Gama Bunta since he was there to fight the Kyuubi. Of course, I suppose it&#39;s possible that everyone was instructed not to talk about it, or somehow it was kept a secret. But I&#39;d think that if they did know, then the fact that he&#39;s the 4th&#39;s son would outweigh the fact that he has the Kyuubi in him. Oh well, just have to wait and see I guess.

Since Konohamaru is only a few years younger than Naruto and he is the grandson of the fourth, then it would seem more realistic that Naruto is the grandson of the fourth because of his age (I mean the fourth looks like a billion years old). That would kind of explain Naruto and Konohamaru&#39;s close friendship like a genetic bond. Hmm, this is a good guestion. I think he&#39;s father is propably dead and he&#39;s not anyone listed there, so i answered &quot;Who cares&quot;. Well, on the other hand. Maybe his dad was the 4th Hokage, and he sealed Kyuubi inside Naruto so that it could protect Naruto. But err... What kind of a person would do something like that to his own son? I also said this in my topic about oro and kyubi, the 4th being the father is very logical..

if Oro is the sick f*ck who transformed someone into kyubi, what is possible, it wouth be naruto&#39;s mother shortly after naruto was born, anko said that the 4th and oro weren&#39;t really buddy&#39;s (she kinda hoped he was there with here in the forest), so if Oro wanted to piss off the 4th he wouth have done one hell of a job if he put a demon inside naruto&#39;s mother and make here freak out, because his mother was strong or something kyubi was created, the 4th has to seal him because it&#39;s kinda his fault, and sealing him into his own son is the most logical thing because kyubi wouth be partly naruto&#39;s mom, so he wouth be the only one strong enough to hold kyubi back if he needs to because his mom is part kyubi so that gives naruto a bigger change to hold him back and naruto is very powerful on his own since he is the 4th&#39;s kid.

At first I thought it was possible that Naruto was the 4th just by reading the first chapter of the manga. But then as some more details came up: &quot;sealed the Fox in the naval of a newborn, the emblical cord freshly cut&quot;, it just didn&#39;t make sense that Naruto is the 4th.
I think Naruto is the love child of the 4th. Basically the 4th had a secret affair with some mysterious woman and Naruto was the result.
This is the first time I heard about the Kyubbi possibly being Naruto&#39;s mother. If the legend does involve Kyubbi transforming into women, then Naruto COULD be the son of Kyubbi and the 4th.(That&#39;s pretty fooked up I know)
But that would explain the whisker look on Naruto&#39;s face...

I have another way to support the claim that the Kyubi is naruto&#39;s mother.

in the pilot chapter of the naruto manga, Naruto was a baby demon fox that the third felt bad about killing, so it&#39;s possible that Kishimonto is keeping a suprise Ace up his sleeve to drop on the unsuspecting readers someday.

i really liked the idea about the movie, i hope it&#39;ll be so, but did the kyubi have any connection with snow?

For all we know Kyuubi was in woman form for so long that it forgot its true form.
Giving birth to Naruto caused Kyuubi to revert back to itself(but not right away&#33;).

Well at this point all we can say about Naruto&#39;s father is that the 4th is the most likely suspect.

But there are things that happen that make this seem a little unlikely (mostly the fact that the Villagers didn&#39;t like Naruto).

As for the Demon fox being his mother -that&#39;s the theory I accept at this time also - someone mentioned that they didn&#39;t think that it was possible, but consider this - every time that Naruto pulled out the Kyuubi chakra early on - it was to protect or save naruto... and now that he&#39;s learned to feel the Demon inside him - all he has to do is ask for it and the chakra is given to him.

Compare this to the only other person in the series that we have seen with a demon - Gaara.

Gaara seems to be an example of someone who has a demon inside them trying to hurt them or break free; Naruto&#39;s demon just seems to be hanging out and letting him live his own life most of the time.

Considering that the little information we have seems to indicate that the Fox demon was the most powerful of the 9 demons ..

umm crap I think have to stop there or I wander into potential spoiler territory.

anyways - the fact that Kyuubi seems so benign towards Naruto may be a sign of relation or just a plot device - we don&#39;t know.

Oh - and the Snow queen thing in japanese lore is a ghost story.. it doesn&#39;t seem to be likely to have anything to do with Naruto&#39;s ancestry... but it may be about Haku&#39;s hidden village - and that would be cool.

GAARA is supposed to be negative of Naruto (neo and smith from the matrix, Sasu and Tetsu from PMK...), and when Gaara talks with his sand, he refers to it as &quot;mother&quot;, so it might be a foreshadowing that Naruto&#39;s demon also has connection with motherhood.

besides, Uzumaki Naruto sounds like..
A. an alias, two words with the same meaning, it&#39;s like having some one named Jhon jackson&#092;Jack jhonson, it&#39;s unatrual.
B. a watter country name, spirial and whirpool are both effects of watter and rivers, not a name fitting for someone from the fire country or the leaf villiage.

A can mean that Naruto was a name made up to cover something, B can mean his parents came from afar.
