i second that. i started reading a few weeks ago & made it all the chapter that was released last week. i have no regrets about it. it's really enjoyable and doesn't kill/spoil anything at all.
once you go manga you never go back.

it adds an whole other dimension to the experiance, for example, i have the impression that the anime naruto is dumber in general than the manga naruto. http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/ph34r.gif i also havent regreted it, and i agree that there is no going back after you start reading. however, if you decide to, i suggest you first read through to the end of chapter 113, but no more (any more would be the start of a tremendous spoiler, and wait til the anime catches up, and see if you liked it more or less. if you did, than by all means, read on, i find it brilliant.

I recently read up to the current manga chapter, and I don't regret it. The action is so much more fluent and cool when you see it animated, and the anime usually adds in some extra scenes in stuff. Plus, knowing whats coming up makes me anticipate the anime even more.

Do you think i should read the manga? I have read to chapter 102 or something, but i don't want to ruined the joy of watching the anime later on... if you read manga you know what's going to happend, right?. it can't be fun watching the anime afterwards..? writhe what you think? NO SPOIL!

I'm definitely glad I read the manga. First of all, I can discuss Naruto with people who're also current and feel like I actually know what I'm talking about. And knowing what's going to happen really doesn't bother me—I still wait just as anxiously each week (or two) for the new episode to come out. Plus, when I read through a lot of the manga at once I kinda forgot little details here and there (I'm speaking for myself here—my memory isn't that great) so the anime reminds me of that stuff. And even if it follows the manga completely there's usually a new line or two here and there. As an added bonus, there's no longer a fear of accidentally reading a spoiler when you already know what happens ... !
I went a couple months without reading the manga and only following the anime, but I eventually gave up on that because I wanted to find out what happened next. I haven't regretted my choice yet ^ˆ^

If you're impatient, don't read the manga. The action in the manga, as you may have noticed, has picked up a lot since the second exam, even more so with the ch. 180-200 area where we're currently at right now. IMO, after reading the manga, the anime is so much slower, and they take their sweet time to get to the point that the manga gets to in 19 pages (or 5-10 minutes of reading time for me).
Also, after the Haku/Zazuba arc, I read the manga, and I had a lot of expectations for the series after that because of the manga. So far, the anime hasn't met my expectations, unrealistic, or otherwise, though I'll have to admit that this new bunch of episodes (with the third OP) are a huge improvement over the ones with the second OP.
I was really pissed off at ep. 62, when Naruto summoned the Kyuubi's power. The manga made it so much more dramatic, and it actually looked powerful on paper. It was wimpy in the anime.
In short, the manga is much better than the anime, but it's an extra bonus to see it animated, though I've been mostly disappointed with the results. Plus, the manga is a much smaller dl. <g>

I enjoyed reading manga.
Anime has become alittle less important...however I am glad.
I enjoyed the latest shikamaru animation, its the facial expression, the constant mandokse la...or dattebayo...that makes watching the anime interesting.

I haven't read any of the mangas that cover the story pre ep 64 (basically i got impatient and started reading ahead) but the manga is good. I can't wait to see some of the stuff that happens next in full color (as so many have already said).
Now can someone please tell me what this joke chapter 181 is? I have 181 but thats pretty serious shtuff with sasuke and sakura. Did someone do a spoof manga?! http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/blink.gif

I started reading the manga after watching the first fifteen or twenty episodes. I just grew impatient and couldn't help but read ahead. That said I am completely glad I did so. Since the point the manga is currently up to is a signifigant amount of time after the anime, watching the anime almost seems fresh. It's like watching a really good movie you haven't seen in a while.
One question for you though: If you've never read ahead, why is your name Itachi? You could read about Itachi and decide that you don't really like the character.

Couldn't have said it better.Lots of good stuff. The war,Tsunade era,Itachi era,Sasuke and the 4 sound nin ear,all good stuff.I done the same thing as you,I used to come in the manga section and read all the news about what was happening. Then the same day I registered I got the manga,I never regret it.Plus, you can't have the Itachi name without seeing how great he is.And one more note, the joke chapters own...YOu have to download the 181 joke chapter,it is considered classic among almost all Naruto manga readers.
