I just realized, Sannin is actually San Nin, or Three People, which makes a lot of sense considering that there are three of the legendary ninjas. So what they're really calling them is "the legendary three people". I don't think that it's anything more than that. Can someone who speaks a little Japanese give me a yay/nay on this?

it's probably Sennin, cuz' Naruto wouldn't go around and say 'pervert three man!'... but 'pervert hermit' sounds almost reasonable...

maybe sennin means 'hermit', but when people say 'legendary sannin' they are refering to the legendary three ninja. did Jiriaya ever tell Naruto that he was one of the sannin? I think Naruto doesn't realize his power.
EDIT: yep... I looked it up, and sennin means 'hermit' and sannin means 'three people'

he's referred to as both sennin AND sannin
ebisu and those that know him as jiraiya call him sannin, as in one of the 3 legendaries, but when he met naruto he called himself a "sennin" which is basically a wise hermit. You could say that jiraiya is a "sennin sannin"
and no, naruto only knows him as "perverted hermit", and only heard the name jiraiya once by gamabunta

i though that in the manga they said both but i didnt want to say anything because i thought i might be wrong. but people only call jirayai that when they refer to his status but when naruto calls him he is refreing to his perverted attitude.
so yep, they use both but i noticed in the manga nobody calls orochimaru or tsunade sannin. well go figure.

I don't read the manga because i think there's not enough speed and action in just watching stills. And the music that's in the anime is unbeatble http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif
Umm, no... I don't know where to download the manga http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/tongue.gif And i don't know which chap i should start from if i was to start reading... Man, i might as well read some of the manga...
Why do you have to talk me in to it you meany.

You can get the manga here ('http://user.cs.tu-berlin.de/~rmazores/naruto/') , but up to 106 is irc. (Episode 64 of the anime covered up to episode 110 of the manga though, so no problems.)
If you like the Naruto soundtrack, try the Hellsing, Cowboy Bebop, or Noir soundtracks, which contain easily the best music I have ever heard anywhere (though considering the direction of contemporary American pop-culture that's no surprise). Also, you can find every track from FFVII here ('http://www.angelfire.com/rpg/c612/FFVIImusic.html')
By the way, I don't have a problem with it, since I read the manga myself, but I think it's against the rules to discuss the goings on of the manga on the anime forum. Some may even call it spoiling. I'm sure if you do anything wrong you'll get a pm from the mods before you get suspended/booted, but be careful anyway.

yeah i think some mods may be busy for the holidays, as these references to the "m-word" seem to have gone unnoticed http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/blink.gif

Hahaha the 'm-word' that's so sweet. It only seems to be one mod in particular though who freaks out when someone uses the 'm-word'. Like saying the word 'manga' will be the end of civilization as we know it. http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/dry.gif
