yeah i read the site, and i already know all this, but im still wondering is he the strongest in the leaf, or is it gai? i think everyone else should be under kakashi's level, maybe apart from gai. ohh yeah another thing, is anbu memebers jounins as well, or higher/lower?

I have the feeling Hyuuga Hiashi is stronger than Kakashi and Gai. While both are very powerful, there's the matter of Hiashi posssessing the strongest Leaf Taijutsu, and just basically at the moment being an ultra-powered Neji.

I mean, did you SEE the size of his Kaiten?

I would say Kakashi is one of the weaker Jounins,he isn't that strong. If anything,he is pretty weak.

Remember how Kabuto killed all those anbu guarding Sasuke? And Kakashi and Kabuto are supposedly equal level so I'm guessing anbu are just your "run-of-the-mill" chuunin and jounin and Kakashi is a top but not "the" top ninja.

i think we only know enough to make assumptions about the jounins so far, am i wrong? we haven't really seen many, if any, fight all out. Hopefully we get some facts sometime http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/laugh.gif

Anbu are jounins that specialize in a certain field, that being Leafs top squad.Kabuto is stronger than Kakashi imo,he pretty much was beating the shit out of Tsunade, and she is hokage. If Kakashi was near such a strength, why wasn't he even considered for becoming the 5th hokage. If you've only watched the anime so far.then you have reason to believe he is strong, but he really isn't.Itachi tossed Kakashi away like Kakashi was tossing Naruto in the Genin exam.Maybe that was being too generous,he wasn't even worth Itachi's effort, not like he put any in on jounin like Kakashi.

just for everyone that doesnt know, Orochimaru Tsunade and Jiyaira are all jounins.
so no Kakashi isnt the strongest jounin.

Tue, 12-23-2003, 02:21 AM
first off, Sennin isnt an official military rank. Jiraiya is a Sennin, Orochimaru and Tsunade are not. Sennin, just means Hermit ie, wise man etc...

the Sannin are offically Jounin rank. well, Tsunade now isnt. Jiraiya and Orochimaru arent part of Konoha anymore...

and for those who are mistaken, knowing 1000 jutsu does mean you own. if someone specialises in one type of jutsu for example Neji, it will be hard for them to counter someone who realises their weakness. therefore having a variety of jutsu means you have better choice in different situations. bigger variety of jutsu = more ownage http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/laugh.gif

Kakashi is the "copy ninja" he know how to counter an attack. Because he knows more than 1000 jutsus. But Gai who is good at hand-to-hand combat can defeat kakashi with less problems than others, because sharingan can't see the movements of hand-to-hand combat. So i think that kakashi is the best jounin in leaf "overall"

i really dont want to dive into another Sharingan vs Taijutsu discussion, but, Sharingan does own every type of jutsu, Taijutsu/Ninjutsu/Genjutsu. it can predict and copy Taijutsu, it can counter and copy Genjutsu, and it can copy Ninjutsu and show the person a jutsu's weakness. and anyway, Kakashi seems to have the same level of Taijutsu as Gai since he was able to teach the same Taijutsu to Sasuke in a month.

Copy Ninja Kakashi >> all

they wernt Kages till recently.

Their official titles were jounin, Orochimaru is only a kage to the sound village, hes not an official kage.
Tsunade is only recently a kage and Jiraiya is still a jounin

Kage is a title you can get the moment you own a village, its not an indication of skill level, their actual titles are jounins

Zabuza was still a jounin even if he was a missing nin by the way

only the five grand hidden villages can get the title of 'Kage', it doesn't mean there arn't anyother villiges, but only five kages... oro doesn't count as a kage, if he would have destroyed the leaf, then maybe he would have been granted with the title, but for now, he's just the boss of the sound village.

he isnt really,
most of the jounins from clans are stronger.
If Jiyaira did missions for the leaf he'd be considered a jounin so he'd the strongest, Orochimaru was the strongest jounin at the time that he was in the leaf.
Kakashi hasnt got a reputation the size of theirs, hes good but hes an average jounin when you compare him to some of the strongest

Hyugas leader isnt really a jounin either though - he doesnt wear a head protector and let Hinata train with Kunerai only after he had rejected her, this suggests that the main family train all their members and therefore they dont have the ranks such as genin jounin etc, they're only equivilent.

As far as im concerned, I think that Kakashi was strong but has become less active since becoming Sensei over Team 7 so his skills arent as polished as other jounins that are out and about but he still has the Sharingan so its hard to tell, As for Oro, Jira, and Tsun-they are sage nins and have abilities above and beyond jounins. I am undecided right now on who is the "strongest jounin" in leaf village

Hyuga Koji

No Kakashi isn't the strongest jounin technically but he's right up there he is very well known as one of the three people with a sharingan and one of only two who really know how to use it.

He knows well over a thousand jutsu and can collect and use new ones almost instantaneously (like the shark jutsu of kisame)

I'd say he's tied with Gai as one of the best afterall even Tsunade was scolding him for getting beaten by Itachi of all people so that says something about how strong he is considered.

Jiraiya would technically be a jounin but he's one of the legendary three Kakashi isn't in his league.

Kakashi didn't teach Sasuke Lee's taijutsu he had him mimic what they had both already copied from watching Lee fight.

I'd say that Gai's got better taijutsu (he said he could fight Itachi by looking at just his feet/reflection) but Kakashi is no slouch and is probably right behind him.

If the clan leaders were considered Jounin i think they'd be better than Kakashi.

It's inaccurate to use the term "strongest" when discussing this.

Define "strength" when it comes to shinobi. Knowing 1000 jutsus doesn't mean anything if your opponent knows how to counter them all or can copy them. Different styles of combat work better or worse against certain other types. A shinobi's style might be effective against someone, but totally ineffective against someone else.

It seems to work like rock-paper-scissors a lot of the time. I really can't be bothered going into examples, someone do it for me.

Kakashi is known as the #1 Technician of the Leaf. This means that in terms of variety and overall ability, Kakashi's one of the best. He's probably not the absolute best though.

ok first of all the question was whos thae strongest jounin in the leaf. Oro and the others like tsunade and jairaiya (i can`t spell) are sennin which is a higher level then jounin. go to narutoguide.com fer jounin in the leaf i think kakashi is the strongest, he equal with kabuto in my opinion and itachi could kill him easily but kakashi isn`t in the leaf, he`s a missing nin. he belongs to no village. Gai is good but i think that kakashi could beat him, escpeccially now after watching lee fight, and open gates and stuff because if u were watching he was using his sharigan. so now hes stronger then before. its true that the sennin could beat him but there sennin and two of them aren`t even in the leaf. and anbu are strong its just if u remember kakashi used to be a leader of an anbu group which prves he`s stronger then ordinary anbu. and kabuto killed three with ease because he`s stronger then an anbu two. but yes i think anbu are stronger then normal jounin.

I really dont know about who is the strongest, but IMO i feel that Gai is far more supperior than Kakashi. I mean he taught Rock 3 forbiden techniques the gates, secondary lotus, and primary lotus. If Gai was able to teach rock these kick azz styles then i would guess he himself has perfected them. Rock opened 5 of 8 gates at a Genin lv and he was hella powerful, imagin if Gai had done the same at a Jounin lv. True Kakashi is Da Bomb, and knows over 1k jutsu but i dont even think he would wanna copy Gai'z techinques.

hehe but hey im just mouthin off here. i could be wrong http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/mf_laughbounce.gif

Kakashi would destroy Gai. he may have stronger taijutsu but after kakashi wayched lee fight he copied that taijutsu and hi and gai haven`t fought each other since then so we don`t no. i do think that gai would still be stronger in taijutsu but i think kakashi would own gai. as for the sennin not being a real "milatary" position i didn`t no that, but also don`t care...........besides as it was said be4 jaiyaria(can`t spell) doesn`t belong to the leaf village. anyway i don`t think we have seen enough of the series like someone said before. it also is determined on what aspect. if shikamaru is just like his father then i`m sure he would be the strongest in strategy stuff.

Didn't it say in the manga before the death of the third that Kakashi is the closest to becoming the Hokage. So he is definetely one of the smarter/stronger jounins in the Leaf. None of the sennins are counted as they are all missing-nin as is Itachi. Gai and Kakashi are supposed to be equal in strength but with more than 1000 jutsu and the ability to even copy Taijutsu, he is closer to becoming Hokage.

Gai > Kakashi in taijutsu. I think I saw so in the official character book (like Gai had 5 stars and Kakashi had 4 or something). I don't know who would win though, but I think Gai would win since he specifically trains to fight sharingan users.

Just note though that Kakashi didn't teach Sasuke Lee's taijutsu, Sasuke had to copy it first for himself then he just trained using it. You can't copy Gai/Lee's taijutsu with just the sharingan he had to train as well (and even then Sasuke wasn't on Lee's level as Gai implied hastily learnt taijutsu wasn't the same).

maybe at one point he was, but he said it himself that hes been slipping.
when he encounter Kabuto in the hospital he knew that if a real battle broke out he wouldnt have been strong enough to defeat him alone (if you're wondering why Kabuto ran then its because if you fight someone in their terrority the other nins of the village will hear it and come to help, just like Itachi and Kisame ran from Gai, Asuma, Kakashi, Kunerai)

just to clear something up. when kakashi fought itachi, he got owned. but this was only because the genjutsu itachi used would own anyone except someone with sharingan, or someone who can fight without looking at the other person's eyes.

Also kakashi can't copy kaiten because you have to have unbelieveable control of chakra points. kakashi also can't just all of a sudden copy the 8 sealed gates. it takes training. if you don't believe this look at the first fight between sasuke and lee.

sasuke could see everything but he couldn't copy because he wasn't trained to fight that fast. later on its mentioned that he could go at lee's speed but only for a short period of time, because he doesn't do anywhere as close as much training lee does.

So then u can overlap that to Kakashi may be able to go at Gai's speed, but not for long periods of time. And enless Kakashi already has unbelievable chakra point control(which i doubt, because hyuuga's leader was surprised neji had that much control) he couldn't copy the kaiten, because that takes training in chakra points.

but kakashi was ordering the other 2 jounins in kakashi vs itachi, so he is still probably way up there

ok i just read something in another board that struck me. kakashi is like a super genius coz he became chunnin like at the age of 6... yeah? (this i already know) and also im guessing that he didn't have the sharingan until.... lets says late 20's (his age is like 30's now imo) and so that means he has only had the sharingan for like... 5-6 years? which means most of his skills and stuff that he has learnt was from when he was small. i think this is a significant sign that he is most likely the strongest.

Personally, I do not feel we have seen enough Jounin perform to properly give someone the title. I am not downsizing Kakashi`s skills, but I do not think he is quite the strongest. And, since I do not place him number one does not mean that Gai is above him. I am simply sure that there are a number of actual Jounin ranked nin in Konoha with skills surpassing the legendary copy ninja.

As for all those within Leaf Village [excluding Kage], I believe Hyuuga Hiashi to be the strongest. Byakugan's astounding arsenal is insane, and Hiashi is uber. While the Uchiha blood is probably the most feared (as Itachi stated with his arrival), I believe the Hyuuga are the most powerful.

Although slain, I think Gekkou [Hayate] was badass too. Baki commented that his skills must be amazing to be familiar with the jutsus he knew at that age. Or something along those lines.

No Kakashi isn't the strongest. At this point in the anime he is at best third behind Jiraiya and the 3rd Hokage. At this point in the manga he would be lucky to be in the top 10 overall.

I assume you mean sages instead of sennin..... they are still jounin.... sage isn't a rank, it's a legendary title.... their rank is still jounin, so we can talk about Jiraiya and Orochimaru in this discussion.

Jiraiya didn't abandon Konoha and he isn't a traitor and he isn't being hunted so he is not a missing-nin. Jiraiya's rank is jounin.

No... you are wrong. A missing-nin classifies that a ninja has abandoned their own country. And they are considered "backstabbers" of the village. That is why there are hunter-nins to hunt the missing-nins down.

Haha... mine is almost like the description given by itachi_

Hmm I don't know why but I think that ANBU are the chuunin-jounin nins that are active. So in reality ANBU = chuunin/jounin no?

Itachi Uchiha is technically a jounin, with remarkable strenge. Because he became an anbu captain at age 13, to be an anbu captain you must be atleast jounin... at 13, jounin!!!, it's like naruto being jounin now... http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I know Itachi became a chuunin at 7 then captain of the ANBU at 13 but I can't find him becoming a jounin anywhere. Strength alone is not enough to advance in rank and it doesn't say anywhere that there is a rank restriction on becoming an ANBU.

I would like to point out something that I don't think has been mentioned. If Kakashi seems like just an avaerage Jounin it's because we've seen some of the best Jounins. There are probably dozens of jounins in Konoha that we never see. We only see the star players. Do you remember early on in the series when Kakashi was telling Sakura that a country's ninjas are the equivelant to their military power? You need more than a dozen good soldiers to be in a military. We saw this in flashbacks to the fight against the Kyuubi. Kishimoto never spends much time dealing with unimportant characters like Kiba's dad for instance because these characters are not powerful. Out of the many dozen jounins in Konoha, Kakashi was one of the strongest.

I know that a lot of people are going to shout that I have no proof and I'm working on assumptions. That's fine. I just want to try to put things in perspective. I know that Kakashi isn't the strongest character in the series, but he is strong for a jounin. I doubt Zabuza's guide book lists every jounin in the world. Why do you think Kakashi was included?

As you can tell i really love Kakashi but if you read the manga then you would really know that that there are some WICKED POWERFUL jounins in the LEAF Like Neji's dad's power is insane, same with the other fathers.
