Age of Genins?

Mabye there is one test but you have three chances to pass it. Sasuke would've passed his first time, maybe kiba and hinata on their second try, and Naruto never passed it. Could be kinda like the ACT or the SAT, you take it multiple times, you take it during the year when ur still learning stuff.

To Legato 2057, I'm surprised puberty didn't even come up in your head. Puberty is the major passage from going from a child to an adult (well, not so much anymore, but it's still a major landmark...). The characters are 12 when the manga, starts, and I ASSUME the characters will grow up, over the coming years, and go through puberty. Unless they pull a "Dragon Ball", and just Skip the years where Naruto and co. reach their full height.

I HOPE that they won't skip those years, as a Lot of maturation goes on, and on judging how the characters are progressing (within 1 year), I would think that a LOT of stuff is going to happen between Naruto's 14th and 17th birthdays.

Or, even worse, I hope the series doesn't end before Naruto becomes Hokage.... because, well, that would just suck. So many stories to be told.... But, come to think of it, Legato, u might be right... Somehow, I doubt the series will last long enough for Naruto to finish going through puberty... It's been, what? 3-4 years since the start of Naruto? and only about 1 year has passed. Darn.

I kind of hoped that we could see All these characters grow up, because, really, that's what makes stories about young folk really interesting... *sigh*

I guess we can only hope that Naruto becomes more popular than DragonBall.
'Cause we all know it's 10x better.

When did Narut become 13 years old? Acording to one Naruto site which has a calender of all births and ages of characters presented in the anime, Naruto and the others are 12 years old. Neji and his gang are 13 years old.

well, no i&#39;m not flaming. Im sure there&#39;s an angle we&#39;re missing here, and a perfectly reasonable explanation. It&#39;s not like we see the characters birthday parties on screen, so we could be wrong.

And the tests can be taken at any year, right? I mean, kakashi became a Chuunin at 6, which means he became a gennin at an even younger age. He would have had to take a test, probably in a class with older students as well. So maybe Naruto took the test at 10, 11 and 12....untill he learned kage bunshin in ep. 1.

go watch the scene where the 3rd was looking at that photo of the 4th and then talked to anko. He says that the 4th saved the village 13 years ago (and naruto was born around the same time that it happened).

Keep in mind that some months have gone by since the beginning of the series.

That was the site i looked at before to get their age, also i think they mentioned their age at some time.

idk if this has been said because i don`t read all the posts. but i think that there are many tests throughout the year and naruto failed his third one whil all the others passed all three. he never said this is ur third year taking the exam iruka just said its his third time failing. it possible in ur final year at the academey that there are almost like quarters. if u don`t pass all ur classes in school and only pass on quarter of the year then u don`t get to move on. or there like exams taken in school.

I really doubt that Kishimoto will even mention puberty in the manga. I can&#39;t even believe something like this actually crossed your mind.

i believe its been discussed, but i would just have to say that the exam takes place multiple times a year.

Now the question i have is, that if kiba and hinata were in naruto&#39;s class back when naruto was still learning henge (in kiba&#39;s flashback), and they both were also in naruto&#39;s class after he had failed the exams twice, then would that mean they also failed the exam twice?

It could just be that in your last year there are 3 tests. Fail all 3 and you can&#39;t take the Genin test.

I thought naruto was 12 when he was doing the gennin tests, Rock Lee&#39;s team is a year older than Narutos as Gai said he held them back a year.

i dunno.....if they passed the exam before, then there wouldnt be much point in them being in the classes afterwards. The 2 tests naruto failed were the same as test that took place in the first episode, so i would think that passing any of those wouldve meant graduating

perhaps......kiba and hinata passed before, but didnt get approval from the past jounins that they were assigned?
