does anyone else get these pop ups where its not actually a pop up but a sound clip that just starts playing... man those are annoying. i go through the trouble of setting up like 3 pop blockers and they find a new way to be annoying. first time i heard this thing it scared the hell out of me... im sitting in my room watching tv and out of no where my comp starts talking. i was like holy shit. http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/blink.gif if anyone of you out there knows what im talking about, do any of you know if there's a way to block this kind of pop up? thanx.

My computer once started picking up radio frenquences and would start talking. It might be spyware, try using adaware or any other spybot killer, and for the pop up blocker... google works very well.

i suggest downloading mozilla firebird here ('http://www.mozilla.org'). it has an built in pop up killer and you can download new themes if you get tired of the look. one more thing, you can have tabs instead of different windows, very useful http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/smile.gif

the google toolbar is a good popup blocker.

but if you're hearing random sounds it could be AIM if you're using AIM, some of the adverts on aim are animated flash files that play sounds.

Yeah, especially if they sound like they're movie advertisments
