ok now one thing that Naruto has taught us about chakra molding is that losing chakra is a BAD thing right?
which brings up the point - why do the nins waste so much chakra when they're performing big moves and create an 'aura'?
for them to have that much chakra to waste in the first place shouldnt they be using it to beat their opponent rather then to put on a light show?
Naruto and Lee probably wasted more chakra in the air then they did in actually executing their moves, just seems unnessesicary to show them 'glowing', its been done in over 100 other japanese animes.
thats my only major beef with episode 62, could have been way better if all the chakra just settled into Naruto rather then constantly glowing on him.

he was overflowing with the kyubi chakra, it was over flowing out of his body, and neji was releasing his chakra thru his chakra holes to deflect narutos chakra

You have to get used to it, it happens everytime when he requests lare amounts of kyuubi chakra.
When he fights Gaara it's flowing out so intense that it even rips part of his clothes.
I would not like it for every character, but for kyuubi and flow-control-disabled open gates I do not mind it.

there exists a thing that creators like to do known as "symbolism".....it doesnt have to always be scientifically practical

Dude, it's clearly symbolic. Get better beefs, because I saw nothing wrong with that episode at all. http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/tongue.gif

i'm annoyed with it because i believe in originality, and even the author of Naruto says himself that he gets inspiration from DBZ.
Theres a difference between inspiration and restyling the same thing

i've seen many japanese animes that didnt have auras, and by the way supermans a cartoon not an anime.
Also they called Kaiten 'whirl' which i just had to ignore so it wouldnt sound stupid
if it were just symbolism then the chakra would settle in after awhile, such as when Orochimaru appears to Kakashi awhile back. You dont see Orochimaru constantly glowing. If we look back at dragon ball the original theres only a few auras, but as the series goes on soon everyone has one, personally i dont want Naruto to go down the same path as DBZ - because i've seen it all before http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/tongue.gif

Yup - seems like just leaving it Kaiten or translating it as Divine Spin would have been better..

Well, then I guess you just have to quit watching if you hate it so much. http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/laugh.gif okay now seriously, I don't think they show the auras that much in the series. Like dragonball, it is a guaranteed every fight scene to have glowing auras. But for Naruto it is actually used to show intensity such n such while dragonball, it just seems like everyone can do it.
Edit: we need a way to show Naruto has somehow changed because of the red chakra. what better way to do it than have a glowing aura.

Kaiten is just "rotation"
I'm not sure why they'd want to include "divine" in the translation
they should have left it as kaiten though
japanese > english when it comes to that kind of stuff http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/mf_w00t1.gif

they nicknamed kaiten the heavenly spin, anyway about the aura in no way can you compare it to DBZ if you can't accept the visible chakra around some of the charachters stop watching because it's part of these charachters, if they just made Lee stand there and suddenly break Gaara's head with one blow it wouldn't be fun they actually show us how much power they generate if you hate this then you better stop watching because kakashi does the same with his chidori only it gathers on his hand as long as naruto doesn't start shooting down opponents with his chakra it's in no way related to DBZ, anyone who reads the manga will agree that naruto is in no way like DBZ and will definately not go down the same path this fight was actually kinda crappy let's look forward to the hokage vs oro and naruto vs gaara

or maybe he simply got tired of drawing the aura everytime and realized how gh3y and dbz it would look
http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/mf_laughbounce2.gif
i dont mind the auras either though
cause it's symbolizes the power etc etc (all been said before) and then it leaks out cause it's too much for him to handle at first then he gains control over it and it gets less violent and more focused and moving either in just a circle or just around his body as in the episode just now
and the aura for rock lee + his voice + the music was about the roxorest thing ever to be animated in this anime so far.. i mean they did a good job in l33tifying the manga version of it (instead of toning it down like i felt they did with the naruto vs neji fight)

divine or divination was used instead of "hakke"....which in the manga was referred to as "heavenly".....so i dont see much of a problem with that, and then they used whirl instead of the manga's "spin"

I think that the auras are very important for the anime!!! They are increasing the atmosphere of the moment and theyre also looking too cool too let em out http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/wink.gif
but i think the main reason is first for lee he opened 5 gates thta means that the tenketsus were overloaded so the chakre floated outside.... the same for naruto as kyubis huge chakra was released it opened the tenketsus so that the chakra came out http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/wink.gif!!
but if you look close the flowing chakra aura gets smaller after a little time because they concentrate it http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/wink.gif

Think of it as exaust from the chakra use, its filtered through the ninja body and thats the left over that escapes much like variant quark strands or mild radiation. I think its a neat effect for the show. Plus honestly what fucking anime doesn't have an power show off like that. I can' think of any Shounen that doesn't have that affect, hell there alot of Shoujo that has that in it....

ah it just came to me when i was watching this random show on tv, i think it was Baybladez or something gay like that and even they had auras when all they were doing was playing with spinning tops

naruto had an aura because he can't control large amounts of chakra and neji had an aura because the kaiten uses up a lot of chakra
