Due to a conspiracy, Goku and his friends are turned small. What sort of adventure awaits Goku, Supreme Kai, and the new characters Glorio and Panzy in this unknown world, the "Demon Realm"?

Episode 1:

Okay, that was a great first episode. Felt like watching part of a movie quaity-wise. I'm actually looking forward to this adventure.

However, I have two big problems that I need to know:

1.) What does it actually mean to be king of the underworld? Why are these 3 Tamagami so strong that not even the king of the demons can get the underworld's dragon balls? That feels wrong.

2.) So ... is this a complete alternative universe-story like Dragon Ball GT? Or are we to assume that this happened before Dragon Ball Super, despite NO reference ever having been made to this adventure? If this isn't part of the established canon story, then my excitement is severely lowered. Will still watch, but man ... why not just continue Super ...

Anyway. Animations were great. My favorite new piece of information, though, was: Namekians actually ARE from the demon realm :D Wasn't the big twist in DBZ that Piccolo is not actually a demon, but an alien from planet Namek? And now Toriyama switched it back around, saying "lol, no, the Namekians from planet Namek ACTUALLY steam from the demon realm, so Piccolo was a demon all along!" :D And really, that makes sense. Because it never made sense that a random alien species was capable of creating something like the Dragon Balls.

Not sure how this goes, but this was a fun start.

And yeah, so far this is just GT...again.

The new demon scientist lady feels like a missed opportunity to make Towa canon.

Because we found out in Super that the Dragon Balls originally stem from WAY above, from Zeno, from the gods. Why would some random alien species be capable of re-creating them? Sure, you can always say "why not", but Namekians actually being creatures from the realm of demons/gods makes for a better exaplanation imo.

It doesn't make any more or less sense for demons to make wish granting dragons than it does alien mystics.

The only thing that would make it make "more sense" is if Namekians had been descended from, like, dragons.

Shenron, wtf. That was super bs and I'm still trying to make sense of it. Just denying someone 3 wishes for some new "only longtime customers get 3 wishes" rule? Meh ...

Very bad episode. Skipped fast forward from the halfway point. This isn't dragon ball, this is some random fantasy filler shit.

This show didn't pass the three episode test for me and I only gave it that long since I'm a Dragonball mark. The premise isn't interesting either from a serious storytelling perspective or as a joke - it's a retread of GT in the way people feared.

That said, I like DQ. So I'm down for watching Goku in DQ. But I'm not expecting this to be a DBZ show anymore.

The "heavy air" has even debuffed Goku down to the level of a DQ Martial Artist.

Episode 6:

Just skiped through episode 5 and 6. This really is the biggest disappointment of the season, of the year even.

It's not Dragon Ball. It's a Dragon Quest-anime featuring Son Goku. That's it. Also I hate the designs for Goku and the others. None of them actually look like children, they look like weirdly shrunken adults. Anyone played Cyberpunk 2077? Yeah, it's those children npcs all over again, lol.

Does anyone know if Super will ever be continued?

This was the worst shit ever. WTF.

I barely know where to begin :/

- SSJ4 is now simply some random upgrade you get from some old Namekian
- SSJ4 is still to weak for that generic villain
- Piccolo and friends had NO business joining this fight towards the end, the power difference to SSJ4-Goku and that villain should have been so vast that them joining or not would have made zero difference
- why would the bitch at the end be so confident that this guy grants her her wish? She doesn't know the language, he's no ally of hers. WTF is wrong with her?!
- why would the dragon be stronger than this villain? Weak-ass Piccolo in pre-DBZ easily killed Shenlong. There's no way this Pollunga-ripoff is THAT much stronger, gtfo.

This is such a disappointing episode, considering WHAT happened. SSJ4! This should have been an epic moment, yet it became a random, low-quality scene that's already forgotten by the end of this episode. I hate Daima so much. :( Pls return to Super asap.

The old Namekian seems pretty god-like. He's easily more powerful than any other Namekian in the series. At least in terms of reality altering magic.

Because she thinks he IS an ally of hers. He was her agent the whole time. She has no reason to think he's been swayed to Goku and Co.'s side.


Anyway, 2 episodes left, and we still haven't used those Fusion Bugs. Gogeta incoming.

They made SSJ4 canon. And unlike Broly, where they made it better, canon SSJ4 actually sucks worse than the GT version.

Why they fuck does his tail come and go?!

I feel like, if they were going to reintroduce SSJ4, then they should have had kid Goku and kid Vegeta have their tails. Since they would have been de-aged to before they lost them.

Which would then explain why they don't have SSJ4 anymore in Super because they'd lose their tails when they got turned back into adults.

They didn't even use the fusion bugs!

And the villain didn't even get killed, just put in some forced vacation. Daima is everything that is wrong with modern story-telling.

Daima felt like a let down. SSJ4 seemed weaker than SSJ God. I honestly think SSJ God should be revisited, as Beerus in Battle of Gods hinted that SSJ God should be stronger than a God of Destruction and maybe an an Angel. I am bothered they brought in SSJ God and did not develop it further and instead they introduce Ultra Instinct that seems to last one minute despite it is suppose to conserve energy while increasing strength but seems very weak IMO.

They need to rethink these power downs and focus on developing an actual power up again.

I agree with that. UI to me makes absolutely no sense to me in the DB universe.
