One of the higher profile shows this season, I think, this one is hitting it out of the park so far. Not just a cute, funny romp, but relatively normie friendly. Everyone loves food, and food porn doesn't have to be Shokugeki to hit hard. You don't need selling if the seasonal thread is anything to go by, but consider yourself recommended.

As many shows of the genre, I hope they can renew themselves each episode.

So she's generally providing them trivial and useless information. And even when it might be useful, the Demon Lord dismisses it over cram school. Methinks someone is an overly devoted father.

Even so, the princess is steadily being brainwashed into sympathizing with the hellhorde.

So cute and wholesome. The polar bear/tamer segment was my fav, though the twins were cute as well. Seeing Torture play smash brothers was also gap moe for sure.

Glad to establish that food isn't the only form of torture... just the main one.

Methinks someone is an overly devoted father.

There's a few frame glimpse of this in the OP if you look close enough.

We all agree this is becoming stale very fast if they do not find other sources of fun/humor?

Not so far. I've been enjoying each episode the whole way through.

Not anymore stale than other slice of life comedies. At least this setting is unique.

King of the Hellhorde being voiced by Kaido's seiyuu is gold. His daughter was cute, as expected. Thankfully the jokes and setups keep throwing little curve balls to keep it from getting too predictable.

I expected the Princess to be extracted, but then caught again by the Hellhorde a few days later.

That the sword was asleep the whole time means even the straight man in this comedy duo gets to be the idiot on occasion.

Hellhorde Commander's day out with his cute little daughter (and staying in character) is the single greatest gap moe I've seen thus far. Adorable.

Needles, so cute.

When looking at the credits, I noticed primary animation is credited to Pine Jam. They must have pached some talent, because their first few series were rough (Gamers and Just Because being my go to examples), and Hime looks good, great even sometimes.

It's refreshing how utterly nonsense the setting of this series is.

Early:

Princess' Empire - Generally a generic Baroque period European-styled fantasy nation in the sword & sorcery genre.
Hellhorde Castle - A geologically impossible fantasy pillar/butte with a medieval castle on it.

Later:

Princess is revealed to have a cellphone and a few random modern amenities in her childhood.
Hellhorde lands besides the castle - It is literally modern Japan. The demon lord lives in an apartment.
