Do you like jacked girls? Doesn't matter; you will when you're done watching this... I have a soft spot for sports shows, and this one lands the tropes just right. The prickly integration of casual interest versus the oh so Japanese manga mindset of "only those who are committed are worthy to partake" made an entertaining introduction. Production wise, this is about as low budget as it could get away with without being called outright ugly... but the limitations show. I don't know if rock climbing is oversimplified or given too much credit in reducing the route to the concept of a puzzle insofar as to be a puyo-puyo style visual metaphor, but I'm digging it so far.

Baby Steps also looked about as bad as this visuals-wise, but that show's characters made up for it. This show lacks in that aspect. I too am low-key enjoying this. Let's see how long that lasts.

It's weird seeing people with big boobs climb rocks but. It feels very obstructive.

Waki show.

Was going to post in this thread after seeing the cover solely to say that shinta will probably love it because of the waki, but I see you're already here.

I said Baby Steps looked like ass. I didn't say it wasn't good.

Oh wow, I can post again. Before it stops working again: Something's wrong with the forum. Earlier today i couldn't post anything, the text field was grey, no typing possible. There's also this warning that this website is "unsafe". Hope something can be done.

Up to episode 08.

I didn't expect to stay till ep08.
At first, the poor art and tropey characters seemed off-putting. Especially the Kurusurusu~ girl.
I watched it because of waki and featured sports.
It turned out to be quite close to Baby Steps - art is a bit wonky, smart character decides to apply themselves to a sport and finds this promising but are physically outmatched by other well trained athletes.

... you did a better job of selling it than my thread did, I suppose.

It really does feel like a cookie-cutter shounen sports (in a bad way) until they hit on Hitomi actually outpacing her peers in the semis of that one event, and now they all have to reconcile their own skill against a 'prodigy', which I always find more interesting and humanizing for the characters.
