So, as of the second half of episode 458, we are finally out of the filler. Don't really understand the decision to have such a huge important episode consist of half completely unrelated filler arc, but...whatever.

So yeah, this twist got spoiled for me, but still. It's pretty out of nowhere.

New big bad out of nowhere is some barely mentioned figure from ancient history that none of the current characters have ever interacted with.

That said, still feels good to have Madara eat shit.


I just realized, if Orochimaru gets out of the Infinite Tsukiyomi, Obito would be, like, the perfect body for him. It has everything he could want. A Mangekyo Sharingan, Senju DNA, and the guy is completely spent at this point and would be completely unable to resist.

I wonder if Kishimoto at least approved it. Because it basically says that Kaguya and the Ten Tails(and by extension, all chakra) are extraterrestrial in origin.

Which is pretty cool I guess. And seems like kind of a pretty important detail to leave to filler.

Alright, that one was kinda dumb.

1. That's not how they established the Rinnegan is awakened. And if he knew he was going to immediately heal his brother, it shouldn't have even been traumatically painful in the first place.

2. "You enabled me to awaken my Mangekyou Sharingan and Rinnegan." You're the first person to ever have these things. How do you know what they're called? (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-x1YuvUQFJ0&feature=youtu.be&t=1m54s)

3. The White Zetsu were supposed to be the people that had been trapped by the previous Infinite Tsukiyomi, but they were all freed when Kaguya was sealed.

4. The SotSP was the Ten Tails Jinchuuriki. He supposedly only split it into 9 parts when he was going to die soon. But in this, he split them up immediately.

5. The Gedo statue was the Ten Tails body, it should have been sealed inside the moon with Kaguya. But it wasn't.

So yeah, I'm guessing Kishimoto DIDN'T sign off on this, because whoever wrote this didn't pay any attention to the series at all.


I do know that some of this was meant to tie into the last couple Naruto movies. Like Hamura deciding to stay on the moon, Kaguya's people, etc.

I just looked it up. All the stuff Black Zetsu talked about that he did after Kagura was sealed away was in the manga. All the stuff before that wasn't.

Not surprisingly, all the shit I complained about was in the filler section.


Everything in the 2nd part made sense. Madara biting off a piece of Hashirama. Using Izanagi on a delay to revive himself. Implanting Hashirama's flesh in his wound etc.

The only part that didn't make sense was Madara leaving a Shadow Clone in place of his body. Maintaining a shadow clone indefinitely shouldn't be possible. Not to mention, the moment Tobirama cuts into it for "ninja secrets" it would poof.

Edit: I also just realized, how was Kagura able to use the Infinite Tsukiyomi in the previous episode, when there wasn't even a moon yet?

This was an interesting little backstory. Glad they told it. That said, I think it's really dumb that Asura and Indra have the exact same abilities as Naruto and Sasuke. Right down to Indra's Mangekyo looking EXACTLY like Sasukes. And it can't just be because they are reincarnates, because so were Hashirama and Madara, but Madara's eyes weren't the same. And Asura using Rasengan's, even though that's a technique that Minato was supposed to have invented.

Also, Indra shouldn't have been able to create a fully formed Susano'o, because he only has a Mangekyo, not an Eternal Mangekyo.

Also, the music was freaking awesome. Two cool new(I think) battle songs. And then, when Sadness and Sorrow from the original series kicked in at the end? Goddamn, that got me.

Obito giving Kakashi his Sharingan seems pretty BS, but I guess it's just more advanced versions of things we've already seen. We've seen chakra ghosts that can perform techniques still from the 4th. And we've seen Itachi transfer Sharingan techniques to Sasuke. So as long as it's only temporary, I guess I'm okay with it.

That said, Kakashi shouldn't be able to form a full body Susano'o like that without an Eternal MS.

I see we had to give Sakura something to do at the very end.

Both of them using all their shit, pulling out new shit, then running out of shit and just pounding each other. Great, just great!

Giving Sasuke and Naruto both Hashirama cells is really cool and all, but seems like it could setup a bunch of complications later. Although, if it lets Sasuke eventually activate the Rinnegan in his other eye, I won't complain, because he looks really stupid with mismatched eyes.

Also, why will they give Sasuke and Naruto new arms, but won't give Gai new legs?!

Speaking of Sasuke, motherfucker got to seriously play Karma Houdini on this one. A few weeks/months in a cell and he gets to go free?


Now that it's all said and done, I think my favorite moment in the entire series is still the water towers.
