well, just compare the guys mask to the mask that kabuto took at the beginning, to determine for yourself http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/tongue.gif

yeah but kabuto took the mask after akamaru and kiba looked at the anbu member right?

Xeo
Sat, 12-06-2003, 02:35 AM
Yeah, that's why I thought too... Kiba saw the anbu member before Naruto and Neji started playing with each other. But perhaps the anbu member left the arena... I dunno... But now that everyone is mentioning it... that mask does look familiar, the voice does sound familiar, the way he talks also sounds familiar and coming from a medical nin background, his healing powers also do fit the bill. Which means... Hinata is probably going to die!! And Kiba too... and also Akamaru!! http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/sad.gif There goes the Hyuuga head family... Which could probably start a war... which is what they wanted... Then again... I probably don't know what I'm talking about... I guess we'll see.

Maybe it was a flashback. It would make sense, for Kabuto to know how to heal Hinata since he was raised by a doctor and he seem sto know some medical jutsu's, like the one he did at the hospital when he was fighting Kakashi.

Hmm maybe I'm the only one who's noticed or I have missed something..... but it isn't just Kakashi who is missing frmo the spectators..... where are all the other Jounin??? Maybe they are in battle ready mode expecting something to happen.

As for if a war broke out... well Hinata's dad is at the stadium, I'm sure he could do some serious damage. Old man Hokage would probably have his hands full with Kazekage if something happened which means that....... IF OROCHIMARU ENTERS THE FRAY..............

Yeah, Kakashi is missing... but he's probably protecting Sasuke in some hidden location that not many people know about.

But I hope it wasn't the end of the series for Jiraiya!! That guy is the coolest pervert in all of Naruto! (*looks at the closet* no offense http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/mf_laughbounce2.gif )

I wonder what Gaara was smiling about after he had his flashback about spying on Sasuke and Kakashi. Personally I think Kakashi if not Sasuke as well would have found out they were being spied upon. Maybe he is just getting overconfident in the fact that probably what he saw didn't worry him.

Or maybe some sand just fell down his butt crack.

Dam&#33; That episode was f**king awsome, a truly amazin episode.

1. The fight scene was very very cool, i too was on the edge of my seat when he did that 64 Tenketsu strike. Plus he divination shield thing rules. All round good fight sequence.

2. Good chunk of story in the episode. I totally respect Neji now, and why he is the way he is. I feel sorry for him the way he was &quot;caged at birth&quot;, poor guy.

Oh, the whole Kabuto thing was a flash back, he wasted the ANBU member then dressed up as him and went to the stadium. It was also him who healed Hinata. I&#39;m still not sure whether Kabuto is a true bad guy. He helped Naruto alot when he didnt have to (giving them card info etc) and he healed Hinata when he didnt have to. Seems like a nice guy too. I think he is just stuck working for Oro even though he doesent want to.

I&#39;m thinking Kabuto is either working for Orochimaru to reach some goal of his or they are related.

Yee the ep was really nice and no flashbacks we have heard and seen a thousand times before I like that.

And what gaara was smiling about in 60 he probably got lucky with sasuke http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/smile.gif

Ah well not really he probably did something to him or scared the shit out of him or something.
Gaara didnt seem especially joyish when Kazekage entered the arena. I bet he hates him really bad.

my my, i have sparked an upset, 3 correctons in a row. my bad, my bad, BUT&#33; i have an excuse http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/tongue.gif i looked back at the manga, because i didnt seem to remember if the manga had that guy as the head ninja, and there on the page (go to a site and download chapter 102) was on ak of troy&#39;s translation.....(ill put it spoiler colour, not because its a spoiler, but because we arent suposed to discuss the manga here) <span style='color:#D6DBE0'>it says quite clearly : &quot;that day, a grand ceremony was taking place in the leaf. a shinobi leader from the cloud country, which had been warring with the leaf for many years, had arrived to sign an alliance treaty.</span> so, thats what i put in the post http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/wink.gif why that mistake was made, who knows.

on the subject (kinda) i wonder when we&#39;ll see the first shinobi from the hidden stone villiage of the earth country? (ha&#33; who knows his naruto info now&#33;) http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/mf_laughbounce2.gif

The thing that I liked about this ep is the music. You know the scene were Neji takes of the head band and when Naruto was getting up. As for the ep itself the 64 hands of hakke looked bad ass. Plus i just loved the scene with Little Hinata and Neji. They would have been good friends if that thing didnt happen.

Chehoooo I cannot wait for the next episode its gonna be bad ass.

#1 Go Neji&#33;

I&#39;m Glad to see a lot of the anime watchers coming around on Neji - for a character whom at first seems only haughty and despicable, he&#39;s incredibly empathic once you understand where he is coming from (making him prolly my favorite character)

#2 - manga conversion problems.

There were a couple of things that were a little clearer in the manga than in the anime - these technically aren&#39;t spoilers so hopefully no one gets offended.

A. Kabuto kills the Anbu gaurd and takes his mask BEFORE the matches begin in the manga - making it a little more obvious who it is when Akamaru freaks out and warns kiba about a dangerous individual in the stands.

B. Part of Neji&#39;s despite for Hinata has to do with the fact that Hinata&#39;s younger sister is surpassing her, Neji had his future sealed for someone who wasn&#39;t even strong enough to inherit the Hyuga houshold.

#3 - something that has never been explained to my satisfaction.

Why was Neji&#39;s father sealed.. I understand that he was the younger of the twin brothers, but the Main family seems to have quite a few individuals in it - Unless there had been some problem with direct succession you would think that they would have waited until Hinata&#39;s Father had sired a recognized heir to the house before sealing Neji&#39;s father. ... Odd to me at least..

anyway - looking forward to seeing Episode 62&#33; Should be every bit as tight as this one.

^____^ Like this episode alot...we get to see neji&#39;s 64 strikes, chibi neji, chibi hinata, and...molestation no jutsu?? Hmm...the seal in the anime looks different.

Can you imagine yourself as part of the audience during the chuunin exam...watching two guyz shouting at each other when they should actually be fighting?? I thought this is quite amusing. http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/tongue.gif

i was thinking the same akai. What is the audience thinking as the two &quot;competitors&quot; suddenly stop, and one begins talking about his life story. what happened to kicking a man when he&#39;s down? It can work wonders.

rleland
Sun, 12-07-2003, 09:05 AM
i think the reason neji&#39;s father became a part of the branch was because he *was* hinata&#39;s father&#39;s twin

i think it can be understood best where neji refers to his father as hinata&#39;s father&#39;s (i wish someone would name them so i could stop refering to them as this and this person&#39;s father) body double

neji&#39;s father became part of the branch family because then he could be used as a body double if needed

hmm in all fights up to now they made a pause or something, there was never a &quot;kicking a man when hes down&quot; every time when someone laid on the floor, the fight with his opponent stopped. Kind of Shinoby honor or so....

I can understand Neji, but I don&#39;t think his past is a reason for being an asshole, there are people in Naruto who had worse pasts than neji.

Episode 61 is crap, all they do is talk and a little of action. And for the Anbu guy, it was a flashback where kabuto made his disguised.

I think kabuto wasn&#39;t healing Hinata, but rather absorbing or taking her power. Remember the part where Neji says about the main family sacraficing his father to protect Hinata, and the bad guys want to know the Hyuuga&#39;s secret Jitsu or something. And maybe, this is happining to Hinata.

nice point, but somehow i think you&#39;d have to have a dead body to erally get the secrets of that ability. kakashi explained how you can learn a lot from a body, and this is one thing, no doubt. the real mystery i think is why, if it was kabuto, is he healing her at all? he&#39;s just making himself noticed, and he doesnt give a tinker&#39;s cuss about the villiage, he&#39;s oro&#39;s spy.... if it isnt kabuto, then it makes much more sense. Neji&#39;s past is really interesting, i really enjoyed 661, we learnt a lot, much more tha we have for like 10 episodes, id say.

Neji&#39;s dad = hizashi
Hinata&#39;s dad = hiashi

speaking of them....how utterly hardcore do you have to be to take a shinobi leader from cloud country down in one hit? damn.

About the symbol, I don&#39;t think they had too much of a choice on changing it or not. It&#39;s still one of the most sensitive symbols today... so to put something similar into the anime... is just like asking Jiraiya to poke them over the edge down a waterfall without having kyubi inside you.

So I can understand if some people were shocked / offended by it.

my avatar is a capture from the naruto manga. thats what the &quot;caged bird&quot; or &quot;bird in the cage&quot; symbol is supposed to look like on neji&#39;s forehead. yes it looks like the Nazi swastika, but that is not what it represents. in this case, it is meant to represent the Buddhist symbol for peace and good fortune.

quick history lesson: the swastika was originally used in many ancient cultures, like Buhddism, as a symbol of &quot;good&quot;. after the nazis used the symbol as their banner, the swastika became known to the world as a symbol of &quot;evil&quot;.

Orion Guardian
Tue, 12-09-2003, 09:16 AM
in my opionion, the symbol on Nejis Forehead doesn&#39;t look like a swastika.

As I had to face some NeoNazis face to face [hmm strange][luckily I got away without violence targetet to my &quot;metal&quot;-head which would have caused serious injuries...] I know how a Swastika looks like...and the symbol in the anime is only faaar similar

i think im the only person who noticed that the mask of the anbu that kiba noticed in episode 60 and the mask of the anbu that took hinata in episode 61 are distinctly different (in 60 its a cat mask, in 61 its some red painted rabbit thing, like the one that kabuto stole)

Also keep in mind that flashback sequences usually have some way of indicating that they are flashbacks, and the subbers usually emphasize this by making the text white, or a different font or something. Therefore, kabuto showed up after kiba&#39;s observation. (although im sure this is not an important detail http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/tongue.gif )

Also keep in mind that flashback sequences usually have some way of indicating that they are flashbacks, and the subbers usually emphasize this by making the text white, or a different font or something. Therefore, kabuto showed up after kiba&#39;s observation. (although im sure this is not an important detail http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/tongue.gif ) </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'>

Maybe it is because there are some ANBU teams inside the arena (the one&#39;s kiba has seen) and some more teams outside the arena, the one&#39;s kiba can&#39;t see but Kabuto.

And up until now about every ANBU had a different mask, so why should these two ANBU have the same?

Can you imagine yourself as part of the audience during the chuunin exam...watching two guyz shouting at each other when they should actually be fighting?? I thought this is quite amusing. http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/tongue.gif </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'>
Actually, I think the spectators would be watching and saying to themselves &quot;Ooooo, a grudge match. They usually beat themselves to bloody pulps when there&#39;s somekind of personal hatred at stake. Remember that last one, bout 5 years ago where that one fighter impaled the other guy on the tree? That was awesome. Pass the popcorn. Ooo, beer.&quot;

The fights are basically giant sporting events. You know there&#39;s gotta be a sake vendor up there walkin around. And, when a grudge pops up, it&#39;s like a soap opera that people beat the crap out of each other in, making it more entertaining.

I would have to say people come to look for talent, not to watch kids blabber on letting the other recharge a little chakra and learn a moraless story.
