I know the day is already half over in Finland but it's ass-crack early here in the US so please forgive the delay in creating this post for the best active moderator on the forums.

Happy birthday, Kraco. Hope it's a good one. You're officially middle-aged by US standards, but probably only 1/3 of the way through life in Scandanavian life spans.

Thanks, folks. I thought my birthday present was the shutdown of these forums, but it seems like it only lasted for a day, so that hope was short-lived.

My birthday was decently spent hanging downtown with my brother, eating some good Indian food, making a semi-complicated chocolate cake, feeding the said cake to friends, and listening to their praise.

Something they called lamb regela and lamb vindaloo.

Since it tasted jolly good, I'd say it was perfect for a birthday dinner!

Unfortunately that's not possible. For some reason the chocolate ganache I used for frosting kind of failed and ended up looking ugly, even if it still tasted good. Although I usually take pics of every cake I make, I have a habit of skipping those that didn't turn out as intended (a dubious habit of glorifying my baking history, that is).

Well, it wouldn't have been so fancy anyway to look at, just a sachertorte with added layers of vanilla mousse.
