I like anbu/aone for the subbing, video, and audio.

I carry both on my computer (as far a TW goes anyway) and I go though and compare them, and I just plain prefer anbu/aone.

anbu-aone is better, because they have great quality, good subs, and they're fast!

[tw] has better quality, but they take way too long, when i first started watching naruto i d/led al tw because i didn't know about anbu-aone. then after i started comparing the overall quality of [tw] is better, because a few (very few) of anbu aone's subs are poor quality. where as [tw] takes longer they make sure everything it at best quality.

but who the hell wants to wait that long!? theyre on like 48, anbu aone is on 60! when [tw] catches up to anbu aone, then i'll truely decide who's better, but until then ANBU-AONE ALL OF THE WAY!

Yeah, if TW actually catches up I'll start watching theirs again, but for now its ANBU-AONE.
But so far the only way TW would catchup is to have a couple weeks where they released 1 episode per day....

i used to prefer AA, but ive switched over to TW a little while back, cause i think the translations are more accurate and the subtitles are DEFINITELY easier to read. we've discussed it several times already.....and my excuse usually is that i often watch naruto on a tv, so visibility of subtitles are very important. I've been getting AA for the newer ones that TW hasnt released yet, but man its just sooo hard to comfortably read on a TV that ive been starting to just keep bakasan's versions

[TW]'s fansubs seem to be of higher quality but [ANBU-AonE] gets them out faster. They are on episode 60 while [TW] is on 48 or so. It seems to me that the better translation and subbing overall comes from [TW]. That is the reason that I haven't burned all of my [ANBU-AonE] to disc yet as I am waiting for the [TW] releases. Of course, I don't know what I would do if I wasn't on episode 60 http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/smile.gif

I like [TW] for their translation. It may not be correct according to anyone else's standards, but I like it when they say "shinobi" in stead of ninja and don't translate some of the ninja terms. I also perfer the color of the subtitles and the overall quality.

AA is perfectly alright, though, I just perfer one over the other.

This is my weekly Naruto schedule - it should tell you how I feel about the various subbers.

Wed evening - download new raw from saiyaman (as a manga reader I want to see it as early as possible)

Thursday - delete raw off my desktop.

Friday night - Download new Manga chapter from Naruto Chuusin or Naruto Fan, whomever gets it first. ( I prefer Inane translation, but Orange tangerine is fine too)

Saturday/Sunday/Monday - Download & watch new Anbu-Aone sub when it comes out.

every 24 weeks - burn a season to dvd-r

******************
I check TW website every day - but its for manga scans of other series that they do that I love (HxH, Bleach etc..)

TW fansubs are excellent, but I've been very happy with the ANBU version and have no reason to stress out 2 providers servers.

after checking out Darkanime and Bakasan, both are okay subbers they have translation/ timing problems occasionally - but you can tell that they are very small groups that are trying their best to be fast and get the episodes out for rabid fans.

Who knows at some point Naruto may get licensed and then I'll go with whomever I can find that is willing to still do it while the american licenser catches up (as if).

TW better subs and good video quality
AA weaker subs and good video quality too.

I was too once a TW loyalist from day 1 they were faster at first. 15 or so episodes in (I don't remember exactly where)... they slowed down... big time... Now, TW is about 3 months behind, AA is still on track but I'm still so impatient that I download the first subbed Naruto I can get my hands on before I re-watch the AA version of the episode, and burn the AA version.

Obvious winner here AA.

I find that both are of equal quality to eachother. Both get their raws from the same place, I believe, so it comes down to translation and release speed. ANBU churns them out one a week, whereas TW, well.... THEY'RE FRIGGING SLOW! (no offense, to TW. I'm still jockeying to help ANY group with timing and rendering, but am still being turned down. http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/mf_jumpon.gif )

Personally, TW i believe has best quality overall. Especially when going from computer to TV via S-Video at anime fests. Subs are a little easier to read, and little better encoding. ANBU/AONE gets them out at a very decent speed for the quality they make. Its quite good, almost never some weird encoding error blurs. But I keep TW when they come out.

forgot to add, the Both are wonderful groups of people who for some reason work very hard to satisfy our needs for anime, so thanks to ALL SUBBING GROUPS. without them, where would we be? http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/cool.gif

ANBU&AonE show the Japanese names of the moves (When Naruto shouts Kage Bunshin no Jutsu you see that spelled, with the translation at the top of the screen). That's the best thing about them, TW only shows the translated name.

Then again: TW's subs are MUCH easier to read than those thin AA subs, and TW translates more background symbols.

Hunh... I'm not sure where most people got that TW has higher quality than ANBU-AonE?

Are they talking about sound quality?

cause, I dunno, I think, in general, ANBU-AonE is better quality, in terms of video quality. And, on top of that, they release way faster, AND their subtitles are less obtrusive. The yellow subtitles are annoying, because they add colour where there should be none. White, because it is colourless, adds less to the scene, and leaves it more like how it should be normally viewed.

But I'm surprised No-one mentioned Saiyaman and Bakasan's subs. Cause, the quality of those subs was superior, in terms of video quality. It was WAY better. I'm pretty sure it has to do with the fact that Bakasan used an external program to add the subs afterwards, kind of like on a second layer, I assume, whereas TW and AnBU-AonE put the subtitles in, and then re-rendered the entire thing, which results in a loss of quality. I'm not sure if it's changed now, though, but it hink Bakasan now uses lower quality, and realone, for his releases... So yeah, It probably isn't relavent anymore. And the subtitles themselves weren't as good, since, I think, Only Bakasan did all that stuff, and released it really early. But the video quality was awesome http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/smile.gif

So, like, I would say, ANBU-AonE is definetly best right now. To me. But I don't judge on sound quality, so if you do, you might have a different view.

easier readability means you can read the subtitles faster as well, thus giving you more time to watch the actual scenes. I wouldnt care if there's a little more yellow in a scene if thats what it takes to read the translation faster.

hi im new here, I just d/led anbu-aone 1-10 bulk torrent(i started that last week btw http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/ph34r.gif ) Well after watching the episode I was like "wow, this anime is pretty cool." After watching it I got hype up to talk about it anyways i came upon this little topic and well I don't know what tw is but anbu translation is not great but it is still good enough to be enjoyable. There are some parts that i notice that they just make up http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/laugh.gif but its not entirely their fault they mustve done it because as they say, "it lose something in the translation". But as in most asian culture this little thing becomes "it lose everything in the translation." I honestly don't know if anbu-aone brings episode out faster than this "tw" so I can't really comment on that. But some of your complaints about the translation isn't that great. Whether the sub says those spells/technique or not you will hear it. Am I not correct? also I have notice that if you look at the top of the screen there are spell that are written out the japanese way. Although I can't really say that they have done this on every spells/technique fore I am way behind and currently d/l 11-20 bulk torrent.
But all in all, anbu-aone do some great work.

well I just wanted to give my 2 cents and dime.

p.s. I got 1 complaint(not to anbu-aone) zabusa fight in the mist was so burdensome I don't know if this was suppose to be cool or something but that mist effect just made it hard for me to watch the episode.

I like how Anbu Aone is releasing them in 10 episode packages. If I have too many Bittorrent files dling at the same time my computer begins to freeze up for some reason, which is odd because I can have a torrent or two, and several simultaneous serieses dling on k-lite, and something over aim too, so i dunno what the deal is.

Well heres an list

[TW]=Totyama's World.
They don't seem to bother in Naruto Anime Seeing that they didnt release a single fansub after about 40-50 something. All they have is there group packages that are remaining. But between Anbu-Aone and TW, i believe both are good qualitys, But in the long run, ANBU-Aone seems to be better. Bakasan, and the rest is okay, but the quality of the coding, the editing, and suchs doesnt compare. But you can get buy with just a few blurrs, Unless your a neat freak and need to make sure everything is at 100% quality. Then otherwise, download which ever. But some eps. from ANBU-Aone are cetinly better then the rest.

TW encodes all the OP/ED themes at 30fps instead of 24fps like AA does. (The episodes themselves are encoded by both at 24fps) It's very easy to tell when you watch the 2nd OP/ED. The CG animation stands out a lot more (e.g. insects on shino, panning out from the jounins, flipping portraits). Also, the TW sound is less "squealy" in the higher frequencies than AA. Downside is that TW has slow releases.

I would go with ANBU/Aone because i have seen all of their episodes. It is great quality, good subbing and no grammatical errors. I would give them perfect if you ask me. Toriyama could compare to ANBU/Aone if it came out faster, though one of the episodes I saw had an error. When they were starting the Chuunin Exam written test... the very first one. How Naruto would describe each of the nine characters. Just watch it and tell me if im right or not.

I honestly haven't seen a tw fansubbed eps. I started with anbu-aone and haven't swayed to this day but i did hear that tw's yellowsubs are easier to read when compared to anbu's when viewed on the tv but i don't care since i watch the eps on the pc anyhow. i guess it boils down to personal preference.
