From Anidb

During the Spring and Autumn period of ancient China, in the western state of Qin, lives two boys, Shin (Xin) and Hyou (Piao), orphaned by war. They spend their days in strenuous training with the goal of one day being great military commanders. The turning point in their lives occurs when Hyou catches the eye of Minister Shou Bunkun (Changwenjun), who gives him the opportunity to serve in the imperial palace.

However, a power struggle occurs shortly thereafter. Hyou is gravely wounded and barely escapes with his life to return home. He entrusts a map into the care of Shin. Following its direction, Shin encounters Sei (Zheng), the young king of Qin, who would in later life be known as Shikoutei (ShiHuangDi).

Despite the fact that it mostly uses 3D CG it is pretty good historical shounen show. I really enjoy watching it.
There are also A-Destiny releases but Hadena is better(esp when it comes to Chinese names).

Thread resurrected! Because i plowed through this show after it was recommended to me by a friend, and i fucking loved it.

I literally just now finished the last episode and it was awesome and sad, to the point i got all misty-eyed.

MANLY TEARS!

And yeah, the CGI was pretty weird at first but you got used to it fairly quickly.

Second season starts in June, 2013!

I just cant get used to the CGI, even though the story isn't too shit.

Kingdom has been abandonned by Inazuma at episode 6.

Watched 1-38 over the last week. This really gets a lot better if you can get used to the CGI and reach the second arc.

Just found out about this series, and really enjoying it. I admit, the CGI gets a bit to get used to, but I think the rest more than makes up for it... and even in the CGI, there's some really good action scenes.

Wish more people would've endured to give this series a shot because what I've watched so far it's very well worth watching, a lot better than most shit coming out in recent years that's for sure.

I'm up to episode 10 now, hope some of you that never got to watch it give it another shot.

Well just finished the whole series (season 1 and 2) and this series is very very good. Sad to see that almost no one here watched it, really one of my favorites in quite some time.

Hopefully there'll be a season 3 at some point because there's plenty of content, else I'll have to go and hunt the manga to continue the story.

In any case, really entertaining series with a mix of action and political drama to go with it. You guys should give this more of a chance.

Any hot girls or lolis?

This is the extent of it, they usually clothe themselves to pass as men:

How about romance?

How about romance?

Not really. You can see some of the female characters developing interest/feelings for our main character, but that's about it for the most part.

What would be the biggest draw? I like stuff with romance and/or hot girls and/or lolis, but I can get by without them if the show has something really good going for it. Judging from your review, it does, but that is also subject to personal taste, so I wanted to know what exactly you liked about it.

Not really. You can see some of the female characters developing interest/feelings for our main character, but that's about it for the most part.

I think it's a combination of things... them alone are quite flawed, but good enough that together they make it a very good watch.

The historical aspect of it is solid, despite that I'm not a big fan of it. It's quite nice to see some of these characters who are portrayed otherworldly (because of how strong they are) accomplished people you can find as you google them, etc.

It's a shounen series through and through (exaggerated strength and unbelievable feats and all that), but it doesn't shy away from the violence and death.

A good combination of large scale wars/battles (in the context of the setting of BC China) and one on one battles. Good action, though sometimes you have to tolerate some of the CGI that looks terrible, accompanied by a battle of strategies and mass death.

There's a political struggle to it as well which is fairly interesting, though limited a bit.

Some pretty good characters, lots of them that at first glance you don't care for and then win you over. There's one in particular that I detested early on and then became one of my favorites in recent memory. He was badass, and the voice acting was incredible... a speech pattern that was very colorful.

In all quite decent in many areas, entertaining with a solid story to back it.
