In Naruto Shippuden 280, it’s tough to say what will happen. "spoiler spoiler spoiler "or it will be filler.
As for 281, there is no question about its status, it is filler for sure. But wait Naruto fans, before getting upset, this filler may just be a one shot story. It seems related to the war and of course the October schedule has not yet been released so there is a chance for canon to return next month. We’ll have to cross our fingers and hope for the best!
The Naruto manga will be almost 60 chapters ahead of the anime once the new month begins.
As always, keep in mind, the dates above are all actual and only subject to the programmers change, but the titles are translations and may differ once they are officially released by Viz Media. As for our predictions, they are just that, and may not be what’s in the episodes.
Here's hoping we don't go into fillers at the end of September.
UPDATE 9/17/12 - 279 being filler kind of confirms 280 and 281 to be filler.
