A nameless girl, the main character, became a UN arbitrator between the humans and the fairies and had returned to her hometown to help her grandfather. One day, the village is sent some strange products made by a company called FairyCo. Reminds me of Fractale, but the wacky style of some parts give me a bit of Penguindrum vibes. Seems like a perfect gg show.

This certainly is a weird show, with a weirder atmosphere. The fairies seem to be hilarious folks, though. The bread robot's case was bloody funny.

It's kind of interesting the humans, while going extinct (why, anyway?), are still living so leisurely and, to be blunt, foolishly.

This show just keeps getting stranger, but I reckon that's only good. At first I thought the living skinned chickens were a joke stretched too far, but when they started to... talk, it somehow became perfect. And then we got Ave Maria as a background music to crown it all. All narrated by the main character's laconic, detached voice.

Alright, THIS looks like it's going to be an awesome series. All of the weird shit with none of the drugs! To think I was about to skip it because of how adorable it looked. You'd think I'd learn my lesson after Narutaru. But yeah, this mix of cute and weird is right up my alley. As of now this is my favorite show of the season.

I was really bored with that first ep. Will try to keep up with this, because after all I did with Madoka and was glad I did, so why not?

If you did not like the first episode, you will probably not like the rest of it.

This is the type of show that targets a niche audience, but that niche will absolutely love it. Deadpan random humour is right up my alley.

"She's an idiot. I'm talking to an idiot." lol...I love pink-haired girl's personality xD. Her internal dialogue goes a long way to making this show worthwhile for me. The parody of the yaoi cultural phenomenon hit right on the nose, and so did her ultimate reaction "Ah, manzines are such a beautiful thing. Except I don't buy any of that crap <.< " And um...I guess that magazine she got sucked into was a fairy's attempt at a manga.

Her internal monologues remind me of Tsuda in Seitokai no Yakuindomo. Having a single tsukkomi in a world of boke is always entertaining.

You know, this episode felt like it was kind of a parody of itself, which I did find funny. Any chance of getting a story arc that lasts for more than a few episodes and gets things (whatever those things may be) moving? They seem to realize that yeah...that'd be a good thing to do...

This show brightens my days as the lols continue. Judging by the characters shown during the intro, and the cat-eared girl making an appearance this episode, it seems like they're just about done introducing all of the most important characters to the "story". Maybe now we'll start getting some info on how humans came to be so close to extinction and just where those fairies are from.

Yeah, it does seem like we're getting back story with this story and the last 3 episodes or so. It can be confusing as shit though because there's just no warning other than context clues you pick up on.

Yeah. The entire time I thought the assistant was [I]her[I] assistant and not her grandfather's.

Throughout this episode I kept thinking that the "assistant" was the dog that wandered off, since that was the easiest explanation for said "assistant" wanders impulsively.

Just...what? No really, what happened?

My main confusion is regarding the person behind the time loop. I first thought that the fairies just kept creating bananas to send the girl back in time so they've got multiple, parrallel versions to help them bake sweets (since they're not allowed to actually clone her).

Maybe that's right, and the Assisstant was merely in for the ride.. or maybe it was the other way around. Anyway, during these time loops, the Assisstant wondered off to look for how he'd define himself. Since he didn't know, he decides to try different things and see what people's reactions to him are like. In one loop, he acted as the wild guy.

When he learned that our MC prefers someone who was quiet, reliable etc etc, he chose that personality and took it as his own. The time loop stopped there and the fairies had their share of sweets.

Each time the universe had to repeat itself, it creates a Time Paradog.

That's about it.

This show rocks. The messages and commentary behind all the happenings get you thinking while remaining entertaining at the same time. I find it hard to classify how I'd recommend this. Deadpan?

I'd guess it'll go with the Ignobel description: "First it makes you laugh. Then it makes you think."

The internal monologues plus the not-chronological-but-superbly-chosen order of airing episodes makes me think of Haruhi.

I have adored watching this series and am sad to see it go. The last "arc" detailing her school days was particularly enjoyable because it solidified her personality, rounding it out. I could finally believe her as a character, and she's even more awesome now. This inevitably added some gravity to the show, but the humor just never let up. Those tea party society girls...lol xD. The fairy popping out of the robot along with the dream sequence that followed were moments of insane adorableness.

Pink-haired Chan: "It's been awhile. :)"

Fairy: "We've always been together :D"

Me: *teary-eyed*

And just as I suspected, there is no show this season that I enjoyed watching more than this one.

Agreeing with you on pretty much all accounts Barles. I've read some comments on other sites that don't entirely approve of this arc being the concluding one, but I'm in total disagreement with them. This arc finally tells us why Watashi chose her job to work with fairies, along with her general character (as you've said).

My favourite "teary" line here had to be the one before yours:

Watashi: "Aren't you.."

Fairy: "Friend?"

:3 :3 :3

I don't know if I can single-handedly say it's my favourite, but this season is probably going to end up being another 3-way tie for me anyway.

Oh, absolutely. I can see why some people would complain that this arc was the last one, but I think I get why it was the last one. It was more of a traditional story than the rest of the show was, and with actual character development for the main character, putting this first might've caused people to expect something that the show was simply never about. Then, you'd start hearing people complain about the show sucking and that would be a shame.

This was a really good show. It has elements of intelligence in the guise of random humour. The characters, particularly Watashi, are excellent as well. This is something someone tired of the usual anime presentation and development can really get into.

lol...that totally made my day. "I was frightened at first. But since it's made by the fairies there shouldn't be any kind of danger." I'm trying to figure out which part of the fairy manga or the fairy bread factory would make her say something like that. Survival of the fittest indeed. Guess my hopes for another season are laid to rest with this, but it was gold through and through so no whining from me.

I was kind of hoping for her to be the Smurfette of the fairies, at least for a little while.

Three more specials were actually released continuing on with the nonsense of the first two. You can find them on commie's volume releases. They seem to release one special which each new volume, so I think we'll get one or two more.

This series has always been rather screwy in a mean way, but special 05 takes the cake. I remember watching the anime and thinking that its amazing that they survived any of those fairy contraptions, let alone all of them. To think she's about to get done in by a cup...lol.
