The first season of K-ON! was great. It was funny, entertaining to watch and it was about the music. They had videoclips, the band had a goal and the soundtrack was great overall. Then the second season came... along with the realization by Kyo Ani that the music wasn't what was making the sales and it was probably the most expensive or complicated aspect of the series, which led to 24 episodes of cute girls doing cute things with about 20 minutes of music spread in between.

That's why the franchise is crap, not because anyone told me so.
