They haven't been getting along since the day of Christmas after they gave each other gifts, and they also have opposite taste of things.

Their families are currently on a war because of business rivalry, the boy's family are Yakuzas while the girl's family are gangsters. The leaders of both groups would like to get along, because if the war will not be stopped, there will surely be many casualties, and the problem is that their underlings wouldn't listen to them, so they decided on something that will make them cooperate, they want Ichijou and Kirisaki to become lovers so that their families will come to an understanding with each other.

It's pretty great, and it's been doing high in the questionnaires too.

This from the guy who didn't get off my balls cause HxH doesn't get good before the first 50 or some shit episodes? >_>

Give it 5 more chapters at least, the author is building some sort of awesome super love polygon and making it pretty hard to figure out who's the girl who'll win.

I actually enjoy this manga - the pacing is absolutely great (better than 90% of romance-comedies) and the art is really unique.

I still don't think the series can outclass its oneshot counterpart, though.

Caught up to this in on a lark, and now would be the time to do so if you are interested in this long running shounen romance comedy. The story is effectively over now (as of chapter 227), and the resolution's handling is almost surreal if you binge read. People blurt confessions and bridges are burned, so to speak. Funnily enough, this happens before the final year (of their high school), so either the ratings dropped too much, or the Manga-ka got bored of the story himself, because there was much more opportunity for the filler that one could argue the series has been mostly comprised of.

This story WAS filler.

What chapter did anything relevant start? I'd like to read it.

Oh boy, there is so much fluff that its hard to pin down an exact chapter. Entire arcs are devoted to 'eliminating' single girls from the harem. That being said, the 'mystery' of the locket, which is the central story by my count, starts resolving around chapter 210. That is when the biggest bombs begin to drop and cross the point of no return. I hope thats helpful.

Thanks. I'll look into it. Who's the likely final girl so far? I know blondie is probably the last. I just wanted to know if this manga went Shuffle on us. As opposed to Oreimo.

The final girl is the one introduced first, no surprises there. Especially since the author did buildup suggesting that that was not going to be the case, it kind of felt misled (or maybe I'm just salty my 'pick' didn't win).

Who is it?

The winner is... Chitoge

So uh, how did Raku fall out of love with that bland girl he originally liked?

He sort of didn't, as far as he says it, he loves Chitoge more and sees himself wanting to be with her to push himself to new heights... It sounds slightly less stupid when he says it.

Why didn't he just screw them both? Those pussies were more than willing enough to share him.

I think its a textbook case of the author writing himself into a corner of developing two characters so much that there was not way to satisfactorily 'choose' one. Do you know of any harem mangas that actually went the 'shared protagonist' route?
