Movie: Dredd

Thoughts? Not feeling optimistic about Dredd at the moment, but hope that it's at least entertaining.

Karl Urban as Judge Dredd, and Lena Headey will play the villain Madeline Madrigal.

Not sure the movie needed to be made again, though I never saw the Stallone version. This one looks more gritty and dark, less cartoonish than the previous one. Not sure Karl Urban will make a good Judge Dredd, not diesel enough.

Personally, the feeling I got from that trailer was that it was more cartoony. The original film was goofy, but it had a real feel to it that the CG-laden trailer for this lacks.

Urban doesn't fit the role as well as Stallone did, even if he did remove his helmet throughout the movie.

Judge Dredd was a great movie. And stallone was awesome in it. This version seems to be a shitty parody of the original. Is the new Dredd trying to do the batman voice? and what's with the suuuuuper campy one liners? "its time for judgement"? really?

This movie looks kinda iffy at best. I know the Stallone version of Dredd didn't do so great but I also liked it...even though it had Rob Schneider.

Alright, A+ for the violence. Don't know how I feel if we're constantly going to be exposed to slow-mo Matrix scenes.

This is porn at it's best. This shit is gonna be awesome. From what i understood from the last trailer was that the drug they use slows down time for the one using it. I think this scene was to illustrate that. They smoked and then everything goes in slow motion. But when Dreed fires the speed is normal. So i think it's awesomely made.
