So brownbeard is working for Law now? Kinda strange since his last encounter before the time jump was with the fortune teller guy.

cold robin is hot.

it's possible that Law became ridiculously strong during the time skip, but it might be that he is employing a power source in the island to enhance his abilities.

Nah I wouldn't doubt it to be his natural strength, but what it sounded like from smoker is that it still can't get past the haki defense of the stronger opponents.

I assumed that any DF ability becomes null in face of an opponent with strong enough haki.

This probably explains Bepo and that dragon the Strawhats fought earlier.

This is kind of nitpicking, but there's a minor inconsistency going on here with Law's shambles ability. From what we've seen with the samurai, it would appear that when a person is split into multiple body parts, they still retain control over those parts. This is of course evident in the way the samurai's head could still talk, but also in that he could still control his legs and torso and he had an awareness of what was happening with them.

However, this is contradictory with the other creatures we've seen (centaurs, sheeple(?)), where, presumably, Law combined humans with animals. In these cases, the humans seemed to have complete control over their animal parts, whereas Luffy has no control over the samurai's legs that he took the liberty of attaching to himself. Finally, Law demonstrated an ability to swap bodies entirely between people via their hearts, however, the samurai could still move the parts of his body that doesn't have his heart.

This is probably a portion of his ability. Like if he purposely joins separate items they join and if he just splits them they remain split retaining their functionality.

We still don't even know the fruit's name and you're complaining that it's not working as it should? Who knows how it should work?

I'm pretty sure smoker's description in this chapter will be the extent of any explanation we're going to get about an "operating room" fruit.

There might be a difference between having everything stay separated vs connecting back to some other source.
