While the Nami flashbacks were unnecessarily long, I still felt like this episode had a lot more impact and weight than the episodes before in this arc. That's probably natural for the simple reason only now the villains are getting solid background and are getting connected to the bigger picture. Before they were just random, if colourful, people vaguely connected to Arlong. Plus I was somewhat disappointed by this island in general. Sure, it's different from the human populated islands in many ways, but it doesn't seem to have much weight, to reuse that word. Like I've said before, it's been too weak and the king and his court are lacking punch. It's not like Cobra of Alabasta would have been that strong physically either, or even his servants, but I suppose due to the much longer time taken in setting the stage, you could feel the bigger picture weighing down on his shoulders. I hope now with Jinbei's narration that will be corrected.

Although I'd kind of like to know what happened to Zoro et al...
