That would be SUPER lame but yeah, looks like he bite the dust there. Getting hit by a train is one thing but being at the center of a bomb. It's not looking good...

Yeah, it looked like he literally disintegrated in the blast... not sure how he can come back from that, unless Vegapunk has some ridiculous super magic way of rebuilding him or whatever.. i bet he comes back somehow tho.. that didn't really "feel" like a real death for someone as important as Franky...

Especially since i was totally counting on him pushing the self-destruct button as soon as they mentioned it to him.

If he really got perma-killed just like that out of the blue i'll be pretty surprised O.o

I'm sure he's not dead.

But the animators sure want us to THINK he's dead.

I mean they even did the stereotypical anime "blast wave envelops them and their shadow slowly dissolved inside the blast" that almost always means they've been obliterated.

That would be the most hilarious way to kill off a major character ever.
Also, it would seem that Franky is now the second strawhat to mistaken a skull and crossbones symbol as something that meant "pirates"

I wonder what he THOUGHT a big "For Pirates" button would do?

Like treasure would pop out?
