Not really, we decided to open it up despite knowing that there was a good possibility of it ending soon. Main thing we wanted to see was if there still was an audience to create forums like this, and so far it seems like it's been quite positive.

Has there been any update on the length of the series?

I'm guessing we'll find out in early September. The first season ended on September 27, 2010. Fairy Tail was then renewed for a second season, (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2010-09-12/fairy-tail-anime-2nd-year-confirmed) which started on October 11, 2010. The first season had 48 episodes and episode 90 is the 42nd episode of this season, so six more eps until it's even with season one.

It seems like the current manga arc is coming to an end, so I can see that one being animated, unless the show's popularity has fallen and they decide to end it at 96.

Charle owned all those Exceed. I couldn't help but lol when their world crashed down upon them, arrogant cats. And Lily was banished just for saving a child?

No clue as I'm not up-to-speed, but seems like some thought it might end soon for whatever reason. I myself doubted it since there's plenty to animate still. But even if it ends, I would think it would be temporary if anything until more material is out or something.

Even though the scene used the best song ever, I found the resolution of everyone just coming together to PUSH the magic meteor back to be...just over the top cheesy.

Hah, considering how Lily wasn't even stopping them from attacking anymore, the obvious easy solutionw ould have been for Wendy to Roar at it.
