I don't know why, but the way they animated Nico Robin's scenes in this ep felt kinda... surreal. I think maybe her eyes looked different?

The Robin scene definitely looked like it was done in a drastically different art style than the rest of the episode.

I haven't watched the anime in a while but it's not the first time that's happened right? I remember Robin's arc after the Straw Hats splitting up having quite an unique art style as well

Probably. Wouldn't surprise me if they were doing some meta shit where each of the strawhats sidestories has been done by a different studio or something.

I really would like longer arcs with the other Strawhats. The bulk of One Piece was more in balance with the other characters getting screentime, but now we have been having only Luffy for a really long time, and much of it was quite annoying Ace, Ace, Ace repeat. Maybe there's nothing from Oda save individual pics about the fates of the other members, but I'd even be willing to watch some filler material to get a break from Luffy... Quarter of an episode really isn't much time at all to get develoment of any sort.

I have zero interest in seeing the anime studio try and make entire story arcs revolving around individual Strawhat members.

They generally don't cover multiple chapters per episode unlike most series. I don't think it's likely we're going to catch up anytime soon, if ever.
