Leslie Nielsen Dead at 84 (http://www.nytimes.com/2010/11/29/nyregion/29nielsen.html?_r=1&src=me)

I saw this message on irc "[11:43:20pm] -Global- it pains this IRCop to announce that Leslie Nielsen died today, he was 84 years old." I didn't think it was true, but it is. :(

Leslie Nielsen is dead? Surely you can't be serious!

That was a surprise. Quite an ordinary cause, though, for elders. But still, he could have lived longer. Not few actors are still acting when older than 84.

This is very sad news, he was easily my favorite comedy actor. I don't think I've ever laughed as hard as I did in his Naked Gun 33 1/3. I still do. Particularly in the Academy Awards scene.

And of course, Enrico Palazzo.

The world has truly lost a great man today, an actor who understood comic timing perhaps better than anyone else, and his dramatic roles were good too (Forbidden Planet made a mark few scifi fans can ignore).

No frikkin' way! I thought for sure the guy was immortal!

Thanks and rest in peace, old childhood hero. We had fun.

I heard about this yesterday and I was a little shocked and very sad. And to be honest, I had no idea he was already in his 80s.

Continues to make me laugh out loud even after I've seen all the movies again and again. Will be sorely missed.

I feel a marathon of Naked Gun, Wrongfully Accused and Spy Hard coming on.
