Kinda makes you think that if Whitebeard had been more proactive and just destroyed Marine HQ years ago he wouldn't have to be rescuing Ace now.

Kinda makes you think that if Whitebeard had been more proactive and just destroyed Marine HQ years ago he wouldn't have to be rescuing Ace now.

I'm sure if Whitebeard destroyed Marineford the marines wouldnt just throw up their arms and say "well guess we can't execute people anymore"

That field of ice is weirdly interdimensional. The marines evacuated themselves from their melee fight with the pirates "before they knew it" but still the pirates have been running and running and running for several episodes yet none save Oars ever got any closer to the walls. Well, except that lone straggler who broke his club against it. Shouldn't the pirates have been running up those stairs alongside the marines?

The slicing earthquake was a very neat show of power indeed but otherwise this was an odd episode.

Well, the retreating marines also weren't the ones being shot at from cannons and other marines already behind the walls. I thought it was strange how long it took for most of the non-whitebeard pirates to get into the bay.

My interpretation was that while all of the pirates were staring, shocked at Whitebeard being stabbed, the Marines were all withdrawing.
