The whole #3 backstory part was filler, Aizen just killed her and the story moved on, so it hasnt actually been confirmed she was a vasto lorde

Bah. Seems like the kind of thing they'd ask about before putting in there. But no point in arguing I guess.

I guess I just don't see why people keep holding out hope that there's some more powerful level of Hollows out there. Especially since people already seem to want this series to finish.

Barrigan was the King of the Hollow World. There's not gonna be a whole nother level above him, the Hollows are done in this series.

This arc is gonna finish, Aizen is gonna make his key, and then we can move on to the final arc in the Spirit King's realm.


Hell, with the Espada gone, Soul Society should just invade Heuco Mundo en masse after this arc and destroy the place. Put and end to the Hollows till the next generation of people die miserable.

The Hollow power levels were somewhat disappointing for sure, considering what manner of an impression the beginning of the series gave. But on the other hand, the Hollows had no culture, little discipline and traditions, so accumulating power in nothingness as effectively as in the academies of SS wouldn't make much sense. Just eating lesser Hollows isn't going to systematically give you fancy powers and skills equalling shinigami captains with shikai and bankai.

But then again, it has been a long time since I thought the Bleach world was thought-out and really functional on paper and not just a device to serve the plot in whatever manner the current happenings require.

All according to Aizen's plan, of course.

the current intro to Bleach, There is a quick scene where there looks like a nuke is going off. Mid-way through maybe? I think it take big brass balls to have a Japanese cartoon that drops a nuke on Japan in it's intro. That is all.

All big attacks that actually hit the ground make mushroom clouds in anime, not just nukes. There's mushroom clouds all over DBZ and none of them are from nukes.

One of the first animes I saw was Evangelion, and they spam nukes in it like there's no tomorrow. So, seeing then in anime is certainly not surprising.
