New picture of Thor in his "human form" apparently trying to retrieve his hammer, and a pretty sweet concept-art thing.

Looks aight, I guess. Was never a big fan of the Thor series.

So far, I like this portrayal of the God's realm over the Clash of the Titans one.

They should cast Overeem to play Thor:

You seem to have described the exact feeling I got from this upon seeing the trailer.

That's quite a relief, since all of my roommates seemed excited to see it and I couldn't understand why.

Just seen this bad boy. It was entertaining for someone who doesn't know much about the Marvel universe. Lots of CGI but pretty well made. It seems that every Marvel movie its best part is the scene after the credits where you get a glimpse of the following movie.

and all those after-credits scenes leads to the massive nerdgasm that will be The Avengers movie ^^

Watched it the other day and it was quite fun. Bit weird that Natalie Portman and Thor had like 3 scenes together the whole movie, which made them falling in love quite weird.

The dialogue was a bit bad, particularly with Loki towards the end.

But it had some nice action.

I watched this last week...it was pretty good. Though I thought Natalie Portman's character was totally unnecessary in that she didn't really add any value to the movie and the "romance" between her and Thor felt tacked on. I realize the Jane Foster character was Thor's first love interest in the comics but still...

agreed.

at the end of the day it was a marvel movie, not DC. that pretty much sums up how i felt.

Cool movie, good laughs. Just when Thor's friends came to the Earth "realm" they looked like a bunch of dressed up larpers. I loled.

Uh... I just watched this movie, and it was basically the worse comic book movie I've seen (and I've seen Elektra).

Thor himself was a bundle of sexy love, of course.

But WTF? Where was the character depth? All of Thor's/Natalie Portman's friends had nothing to do but fill the screen and they looked awkward because they were too much in the foreground to really be ignored. We didn't really get any insight into Natalie's life/purpose other than "I have data!".

Agreed about the other world. I quite enjoyed it in an aesthetic sense but the set design didn't quite hit the mark. I can't tell if the costumes looked bad (they looked more "cosplay") because of the lighting or because of the cinematography or just because they were made poorly, but that was disappointing as well. (lol @ what Killa said, so true...) They shoulda got the Spartacus and/or Game of Throne people. :(

But yeah I agree with Munsu, the whole falling in love bit felt super forced since there was absolutely no sense of courtship/significant experience other than smiling at each other and talking a little.

Mostly I'm just pissed because I forced myself to watch this so I could understand the Avengers lol.

You never saw Catwoman, F4-2: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Spiderman 3, or X-Men Origins: Wolverine? Elektra was bad, but...ugh, there is much worse.

As you said, other than Thor being an angry, crabby man-baby in the first half, and then the sum of the story is that he decided to be a little bit of a team player...while still doing most of the work.

Honestly, what I enjoyed the most was Agent Coulson scenes and Hawkeye's nameless cameo. This was the movie where the Coulson role finally became less of a random guy being a little bit of a dick, and he became more of a real person, and an all around likeable guy imo. Also highly recommend the Captain America extra featurette (http://youtu.be/hGrIAf1LUSg).

What I can't understand was how this movie did better than Captain America, which was a more more cohesive film.

I'm still looking forward to the sequel though, strangely enough.

WHAT DA FUCK???? Why didn't they get whoever made that featurette to make the movie?

Now I'm just baffled. @___@

I didn't mind Thor. I thought the action scenes were good. Only party that bothered me was near the end where they go from Odin's room to the Rainbow road portal without any scenes of them actually running or flying there. :/

Was an instant scene switch.

I thought the fire automaton (I'm sure it had some name, but I've forgotten it already) was cool. It was quite menacing. It reminded me of the various Dwemer guardians in the Elder Scrolls games.
