I recently found a short anime film made by an animation student and felt i should share it

* Ishida Hiroyasu directed, animated, edited, and recorded the whole thing. It was awarded the second YouTube Video Award Japan for animation in 2009.

A short, independent 143-second anime featuring a schoolgirl named Fumiko, who just confessed love to the boy she likes. She gets turned down, because he wants to concentrate on baseball training and runs off crying, running downhill through the small town, she gains more and more momentum.

Fumiko no Kokuhaku (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ikGHQRhe0Qc)

Do you know of any other independent works out there?

That was pretty good. It had better animation than a lot of Naruto and Bleach episodes.

LOL that was hilarious, and when she got all red at the end it really did remind me of weirdo-Kyuubi in the latest Naruto ep :P

Oh, that's a fairly old short. It popped up on ANN and Sankaku when it was first released, so it was pretty common in conversation for a while.

Well, as for other small-scale works, I'd point you to Cencoroll (http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=4982). Though you've probably already seen that.

Other's would be Life no Color (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mbkgA9mU5Uw) from GodxDog (The studio whom I got my sig image from). Their studios website is no longer up, but iirc there were like 3 dudes in the studio. I dunno if all of them worked on Life no Color or what.

Then from Romanov Films, there is URDA (http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=122) (and Catblue Dynamite). I'm pretty sure it was just 1 or 2 guys who did URDA. But I have no idea on Catblue.. Because it was a much larger production :\

Of course there's all the things from Yasuhiro Yoshiura. His 2 short music (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VV3RlOJ2LxM) videos (http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=4452), Aquatic Language (http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=4346), and Pale Cocoon (http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=4158) (I won't add Time of Eve)

There's the Iron Vendetta (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2009-05-28/iron-vendetta-robot-anime-episode-begins-production) project that's in production and I hope we see soon. At least it's something to look forward to.

There's that Kowarekake no Orgel (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=11348) doujin work that most of the sites don't list because it's doujin.. As well as that Meguriau Sekai (http://www.nyaatorrents.org/?page=download&tid=122228) ova that is treated the same way.

I could link you to a lot of cool anime shorts from Studio 4°C, but those aren't really "independent" :\

Hope I mentioned something that's new to you.

Romance scene, check
Hilarious falling scene, check.
Panty shot, check.
Great Animation quality, check.

Drawing style was not my favorite in this short, but animation was way better than in some commercial productions! I think that creator will get many offers from major studios.

Awman, I only posted Inumaruboya, and not Tannokojo?

New video out from Tannokojo, View (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=034gA9EfOrc). It's only 1:11, but it's awesome. Also, definitely check out Wilderness (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FjGURqm083w) by the same person

And here's another short, titled Koko ni Iru (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=smGihU402GM) by Yasuo Muroi
