The least interesting arc for me. At least this one had some good scenes, like Junichi guilefully managing to get some chest measurements, and not only when they were kids but still now much later. Rihoko really is an airhead.

In any case I'm already more looking forward to the next arc than the next ep.

I'm glad this ep was located at the Tachibana house. That ensure Miya was present giving the arc some much needed vitality.

As happy as I am to see my favourite Amagami girl, Nanasaki, next, it also means I'll have lessened interest in the rest of the show afterwards. Nevertheless, I'm looking forward to the next arc!

That was... pretty bland, I had to say. There were a few moments here and there (the main ones for me was Junichi's futon-attack and Ai's joke in the PV), but I had some trouble sinking into this otherwise.

That jacket... wasn't that the one that Ayatsuji was wearing in the 10-years-after snippet from last season? It's a bit odd that Junichi's studying his butt off to get into university when we don't even know that Ai is smart.

Ayatsuji > Cram School.

And I have to agree. Granted, I was realistically speaking expecting too much from this simply because it has Nanasaki. Still, even objectively, it seems dubious to spend half of the arc with as little action as this ep had. Maybe they intended to make the ep like this to reflect the suffering of Junichi and Ai, being kept apart. The next ep needs to rock like never before!

I found it to be a nice episode, with appropriate scenes to describe what would be nice everyday skinship in a young couple.
It isn't very flashy/showy, but incredibly nice :D
Also, I liked how Ai's stress not being able to spend Xmas with her loved one to be well portrayed.
The SS+ arcs really dwelve into the established relationship, which is a bit unusual with most anime.
The feeling is very different, and it seems that the bounds are increasing with each arc.
I'm a very tactile guy, love skinship and body contacts (even if not directly sexual), so I was very pleased with the futon and lullaby scenes for example.

I really don't see the point of moving out to an apartment if Ai is still within travelling distance of his house to wake him up every morning besides some private time without Miya (and vice versa).

It's just Miya and Junichi at home anyway.

Junichi offers a Key to his apartment. The message is strong enough. The "you can wake me up" part is there for "transition purposes" or not to scare Ai too much. Also some kind of societal reflex so that it's not too strong/obvious what the objective is.

Now the last scenes really tells it all. Ai really is there probably in the summer as fireworks could indicate hanabi period.

We all know that Ai is willing too. That's what I like about her. From the start she's always been portrayed as a girl that is nice that will not eat your mind and seems to understand -or at least be tolerant- to young male ways.
I always felt she's the more balanced of the pack if you consider a long term relationship with "futon fun" :D
Maybe she lacks a little fantasy, eventhough in the first arc she did play some trick.

I felt like that was the only really good scene of this whole arc. Otherwise it was dull and concentrated almost solely on those two wanting to be together but how life oft dictates separations of variable lenghts. Very dull, that is. I'd have much more wanted to see them do stuff together.

The cram school Junichi attended was pretty weird - or a sham. Basically he (or rather his invisible parents) pay large amounts of money for Junichi to go there, yet the school's still insolent enough to group him together with sheer academic failures because of a technical error, thus voiding his Christmas and last school festival. Maybe they charged extra for the camp and thus it was all business for them - and as a typical Japanese Junichi couldn't tell them to shut up.

If I had the means (and was comfortable with it.. as well as it offering a good enough incentive on top such as travel), I would. It all depends on who I'm living with, you see.

Now with Junichi - I assumed he lived just with Miya. They get along fine, just like my brother and I. If that were the case, I see no reason to move out - financial incentives or otherwise.

As for David's statement.. well yeah, some regular "futon attacks" seem to be the only real reason. Miya really cool with them going out.. so maybe it's Junichi's a bit embarrassed by the whole thing.. :S

I share some of Kraco's boredom, but I also appreciate it a lot for the reasons David stated. All in all, "it can't be helped" since Ai is long-term material. The PV featuring Kaoru on the other hand looks really fun.. a and Junichi's burnt out after one episode xD.

By far the weirdest thing for me about the cram school (and perhaps the only weird thing, really) is now they abducted him and then searched for him like some Secret Service.. or mob.

And as for my previous comment about why Junichi has to study his ass off.. I think Ai mentioned in S1 that she's on a scholarship or something.

The official website for the Amagami SS+ romance anime series announced on Tuesday that the anime's seventh Blu-ray Disc/DVD volume will contain an episode arc for the Miya Tachibana character from Enterbrain's original Amagami game. The episode will be titled "Onsen," and the Blu-ray Disc/DVD volume will ship on October 3.

The story is set on a Sunday as Christmas draws near and the male lead Jun'ichi has not made any moves on a girl. Jun'ichi's sister Miya goes to a hot spring that just opened with her classmates Sae and Ai. However, the other Amagami heroines — Tsukasa, Rihoko, Kaoru, and Haruka — also appear there. Without Jun'ichi, the girls talk among themselves at the hot spring.

The volume will come with a "Sweet Standee Kisekae+" card cut-out of Miya as well as stickers for interchangeable accessories on the cut-out.

The first Amagami SS television anime series also inspired a Miya episode arc.

So that ends all the main arcs. It's been a nice enough watch overall that I can safely say I'm glad they made a second season. Being supplementary material, it would be unfair to expect this to be as good as the original, but I held those expectations anyway.

Overall ranking of arcs:

Good: Tsukasa
In between: Haruka
Unsure: Rihoko, Ai.
Bad: Sae, Kaoru

Tsukasa's arc wins hands down. The dynamics between the couple were more or less in line with how they acted prior to SS+. This was the arc that actually felt most like a continuation of SS.

Likewise, the thrill and Junichi's constant feeling of trying to entertain Haruka was also consistent with the first season. She might not be my favourite character, but this arc had progress throughout the two episodes - something that the majority of other arcs lacked.

Rihoko and Ai are in the grey zone. Ai's still as wife-material as ever, but the constant angst over not seeing Junichi for Christmas felt..amplified. It doesn't feel like it should be that big a deal, and I resultantly got a little annoyed at how "lonely" Ai was feeling. Rihoko's arc is probably the only arc that actually exceeded its original in SS. It was a rather vanilla case of Junichi realising he likes Rihoko, so no excitement points there.. but also nothing to turn your nose at either. After getting friend-zoned last series, Rihoko really did deserve a little something for her efforts.

Sae and Kaoru were my biggest disappointments. Well, Kaoru's arc was all downhill for me ever since her second ep in SS. The first episode back then had plenty of flare.. the rest ran on (dwindling) afterburners. Sae's arc dynamics changed dramatically. She went from timid-girl to 2nd-yr-school-idol. While Kaoru's was more or less a continuation of her SS arc (with lap-drawing scenes here being the only reminder of the greatness Karou's very first episode displayed), Sae's felt completely foreign.

Junichi's usefulness seems to be the trend here. He was actively involved with helping Tsukasa and securing Haruka (took 1.5eps), to being rather neutral in Ai/Rihoko and finally just darn right pathetic in Kaoru/Sae. It's interesting how in a harem-show-for-guys, the key to enjoyment is actually the male lead himself.

That said, Junichi is supposedly completely absent in this next ep (I'm not sure if it's TV or BD only), but I'm sure I can enjoy it without him. ;)
