Schweet, been waiting for it to come out

Pretty good (sad) episodes. Can't wait to see how this pushes naruto to the next level. And exactly what did Itachi implant in him? Another attack like the one he implanted in Sasuke against Madara?

The sad episodes in this series are always great. Keep my interest every time.

ok so Naruto has the nine tails power, a bit of Itachi power, and clearly he is going to inherit some sort of frog power.

did I miss anything?

His clones and massive chakra that combine to allow him to do Hyperbolic Time training.

Anyway, seems to me that the obvious answer to the code is that it's pages from one of Jiraiya's books.

Anyway, usual mourning episode. Good stuff. But nothing interesting.

Except the Itachi thing obviously. But since nothing was revealed I'm not even willing to get excited about it at this point.

Oh, and the Raikage is going after his brother! Will he make it in time? And even if he does will he do any better against deus ex sharingan than his brother? I'm excited to find out.

I'll be seriously surprised if it's not that. It felt somewhat forced script writing how nobody thought about it, considering they all knew Jiraiya was as much a book author as a ninja.

I'd imagine it could be something that helps Naruto against Sasuke's sharingan powers. If Sasuke indeed can override Kyuubi normally, it could be something that prevents that, or it could be a defense against sharingan genjutsu (since Naruto is far too stupid to be able to do anything against genjutsu of any level).

Anyway, I liked these eps despite the fact nothing much really happened action wise and much of it was Naruto emoing. However, the ways they brought him back from emoemoland didn't feel forced or artificial. Even the meeting with Kurenai wasn't sugary but rather nonchalant like you'd assume something like that to happen in reality.

What was missing here, in continuation to Iruka and Shikamaru's lessons, was somebody to kick Naruto's ass to get him back to training. Maybe it'll happen in the next ep or the one after it.

decent episode, i hope they don't take the entire episode next week figuring out the code (though they prolly will)

Good episodes, moving and pulled a few, manly tears from my eyes. Shikamaru's speech was great, and when Naruto rejected Iruka's ramen invite... *sniff*

We know Itachi can implant counters and triggers (like he did in Sasuke, with the auto-activate Amaterasu). I'm assuming it's something to block the Kyuubi control, otherwise it's a counter to the Black-Flame-Of-Death-aka-kill-everything-and-anyone-overpowered-bullshit.

Wouldn't it be great, is girly sasuke thinks he's all cool, goes AMATERASU and gets pwnfaced by a Naruto instilled with Itachi power? mmmm.

Also, Book Pages FTW. My friend called it when Jiraiya was burning the numbers into the frog's back, and it makes the most sense. Probably gonna be page numbers that introduce the characters, the ones Pain really is.

He wrote about all those people he met in his book, if I remember correctly.

I haven't even thought about the page numbers. But it does make a lot of sense.
At first I thought you guys meant the pages from his Make Out Tactics series or something like that :P

But the tale of the gallant Jiraiya is prolly more evident.

I thought the main character of his novel was called Naruto (no idea what his book was called, but it makes no sense to name it after someone else).

Tale of the Gallant Jiraiya was a Japanese legend / episode title.

I rewatched the episode where Jiraiya dies, he mentioned his novel the tale of the gallant Jiraiya. But it was also possible he meant the end of his own tale. hmmm

The name of Jiraiya's first book is "The Tale of the Utterly Gutsy Shinobi".

True, at least in one of his books. The title of the book is mentioned in the post above ;)

Slightly offtopic, but can anyone tell me when the last run of filler started? I want to rewatch some episodes because I kinda lost track.

The Rokubi filler arc started at episode 144 and ended at episode 151.

And for those that didn't know. Shippuuden didn't air this week. There will be a double episode on the 8th. Episodes 154 & 155.

Good thing I checked today. I heard fillers were over but wasn't sure. Now back to some Naruto.
