I made this thread because I am a lolicon.

...and because it is interesting to know what kind of loli characters are popular and for what reason, especially with their popularity (practically every anime or manga has at least one) that has exponentially increasing recently.

There are numerous types that appear in anime, which greatly vary in physical appearance (from the generic flat to the strangely busty lolis), personality (from silent innocent types to Rie Kugimiya types), fashion (from traditional goth to school swimsuits), and age (from actual lolis to vamp lolis).

For further information, try this (http://community.livejournal.com/egl/2995537.html), although I am not certain how accurate it is.

Please post your favorite loli character, as well as the reason for your choice.

If you dislike loli or lolicons, please don't waste your time posting hate on this thread. You don't have to particularly like lolis to join in though.

My favorite is probably (not sure because I like too many) Furude Rika.

The contrast between her cute and mature personalities is very cool, and it also means she has the best of two extremes. The inconsistent Higurashi art does not do her justice at times. There are also scenes in the show that make her look absolutely bad ass, instead of merely being a decorative loli, like what most other shows have.

I like Rika, the chick from Cannon sensei, and the blonde chick from that one teasing manga with the teachers who get molested.

I knew the new custom title was a lie!!!

I've mentioned this loads of times before, but i love Wendy from Fairy Tail. She just has this sort of cuteness aura that makes you want to hug her.

It is not really a lie. I did convert to worshiping the mature beauty type. It just so happens I am polytheistic.

I absolutely agree with Wendy from fairy tail. While I am not a fan of the name because it sounds generic and lazily thought out, she is a great example of the innocent loli type. A loli with long black hair without the annoying modern tsundere attitude is a real plus.

My favorite is without question, Furude Rika. Since shinta already did a good job of saying pretty much exactly what I would have, I'll detail my second favorite:

Closely behind would be Felli Loss from Chrome Shelled Regios. She's more in the goth-loli camp than the pure loli.

http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/6016/3d7f3c3d6191a8f377c97fbv.jpg (http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/8581/3d7f3c3d6191a8f377c97fba.jpg)
Huge image [imageshack]

Felli is everything one would want in a hot-cold type tsundere, packaged into a convenient form factor. It's quite hard to verbalize what makes Felli a favorite loli aside from that, she's not nearly as easy to describe as Rika. I guess Felli strikes a balance between the (want to protect) moe feeling and tsundere subset better than most characters I've seen. She's loli, so the want to protect feeling comes naturally on its own, separate from her personality, and is only enhanced by the separate tsundere feeling.

That and her devastating shin-kicks that can crush rock and twist metal.

I was wondering who the loli was shinta, then I realize I can read the hiragana lol

Although I'm not a lolicon, I still appreciate lolis well enough to like them as a character. I'm still thinking who to post. Maybe RinRin? hmm

No matter how much I try, I can't view Felli Loss as a loli. She might be A-cup but that's pretty much it. She's even treated as a bishoujo in the story (an idol). I guess bishoujo and loli aren't completely mutually exclusive, but more often the ideal girls in anime series' worlds aren't lolis (even if the loli still steals the main character dude in the end).

While she isn't strictly a loli in all aspects, she is definitely the loli character in Regios. The height and build difference between her and the other characters are definitely intentional to create such an effect.

Loliness can be relative? O_o

I have yet much to learn...

Can someone explain what exactly defines a "loli character"? Because me, too, never looked as Felli from Regios as a Loli...small tits, yeah, but thats it.

I see your point, but shinta gave us an out with, "fashion (from traditional goth to school swimsuits), and age (from actual lolis to vamp lolis)."

Mikako from Gokinjo Monogatari and her sister Miwako from Paradise Kiss fall into the lolita category under these definitions as well. Mikako and Miwako are absolutely a stretch because they would rely solely on the fashion aspect, so I wouldn't include the two of them. Felli, as shinta pointed out, is intentionally more petite than the rest of the cast.

On the other hand, I don't know how you can look at Meishen, Leerin, and Nina and not call Felli a loli. If I am not mistaken, she is older than the first two. She's practically the same height as the catgirl (Shante).

Because she doesn't look especially (or relatively) young of age or nature. She might be a bit smaller than many of the other girls but she's quite refined (except when a metal pole is nearby). She simply seems delicate to me, not loli. Still, my last touch to Regios has been manga, not anime, so maybe my view got a bit biased. Although that shouldn't matter with all the game and other manga characters here - it's still as valid an image.

Which manga did you read? Because this one has Felli looking like this.

You are correct about other renditions of Felli though. She does not seem as loli in Missing Mail.

Missing Mail. Even I have to acknowledge the Felli of that other manga (that I haven't read) based on that picture is loli enough. Missing Mail Felli is a simple bishoujo character like your second pic shows.

When I saw this thread I thought I'd have lots to say. But after some thought, I can only agree with everyone who voted Felli. I can think of no one else to call a favourite or near-favourite. Plenty of "I likes", but they all stop a bit short.

Since Felli is somewhat in dispute, and I realized I totally forgot about manga entirely, I've got a better one. One that actually rivals, and may very well defeat Rika in the long run.

Misaki Minato from Blood Alone (http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=2994)

http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/4901/bloodalonev02003o.jpg

Loli vampire with a very strong yet healthy attachment to her servant/protector. While this is fairly common in loli-vampire stories, Misaki stands out because she is, largely, very much a regular girl. She wasn't turned that long ago, so most of the more ruthless aspects of her vampirism lay dormant (a stark contrast to series like Vampire Bund). She gets very jealous of women who attempt to flirt with her protector, and it is particularly amusing because if she actually aged, she would be right around them in physical age. There is an innocence and maturity that she goes between, and it is very much genuine, unlike so many characters similar to her. She might be stuck in a loli body, but she is a young woman for certain.

It's been awhile since I read Blood Alone. The releases are so infrequent I just straight-up forget about it.

It's not just the licensor in the States (vol 5 was released in Japan in 2008), the series must only be published in the magazine once every few months. Of course, every other language it is published in is up to volume 5 (German, French). Infinity Studios needs to get off their ass.

edit: With their website dead I'm guessing they went out of business. Damn.

I'm hoping the anime of Vampire Bund does well enough so that Blood Alone gets an series of its own which will hopefully improve its popularity. But given how little material is out, I guess that is unlikely.

I don't like loli's, and this girl isn't a loli either. But she is so petite that she is basically the closest thing to a loli that I actually like.

That is definitely not a loli.

I totally agree with Ryllharu about Misaki from Blood Alone. She is probably one of the main reasons I started liking loli in the first place. It is very rare for me to like a dependent character, especially if that character is supposedly a vampire. I like the manga a lot as well, since it has a very relaxed slice of life theme.

I am not really a fan of the loli in Vampire Bund. I used to like her, but then she turned pure tsundere and lost her coolness (kuu) factor in the later volumes. The manga (and hopefully the anime) is awesome though.

Because she's cold, vulnerable, cute, gentle and friendly all rolled into a pair of twintails.

In general, she's awesome.

Current favorite:

Murasaki Kuhoin

She actually acts like a real kid, without being irritating. Cute to a fault, yet raised to be a classy lady. Innocent, yet aware of unimaginable cruelty. Great voice as well (Aoi Yuki).
